I couldn’t find anything in the forum on this, which leads me to 1 of 2 conclusions: First, this is a total anomaly, or second, I have missed it somewhere in the forum.

I just ordered my first 2 packs of Omega Yeast and sat down to calculate my starters....but no dates on the packages. No “Born On” OR “Best By” dates anywhere that I can find. I am getting older, but, I don’t think my eyes OR sanity have failed me like this. Anyone have this happen? Am I missing something? How else can I calculate viability?

Hey, I work for Omega Yeast -- definitely an anomaly. The embossing wheel had indeed been imprinting lightly and we were tweaking it. It's fixed now with a good, deep emboss.

Let me know where you bought that pack and when (feel free to email me at [email protected]); we will get you -- and anyone else who needs it -- the right dates for the packs you have.

It sounds like you're already doing it, but we would recommend using a starter, too, just to confirm the viability to be extra sure. And if there's any problem, please let us know. We want you to have a great experience. Sorry for the snafu!

Thanks for the replies, folks. The company from which I purchased this did get back to me to help get it sorted out. Like it has been said, the embossing was there, but REAL light. Hopefully this is permanently fixed because, it gave me a momentary heart attack!
