I got a bottle of Old slug by rch in england, and I saw it was bottle conditioned, so I saved the yeast. Before I go through the trouble of coaxing this up to a proper starter, does anyone know if this is an available strain? Or has anyone used the yeast before? What were the results?

First, I would find out if they are bottling with a different strain than they use for fermentation. Of coarse you could still try to plate it even if it's not, but it may not be what your going for.

Theres very little information available. I can taste the starter and see if I get anywhere in the ballpark of the expected esters. Outside of german hefes, Ive found that a separate bottling strain seems to be rarer than people fear.
