I'm making the oaked acerglyn (maple mead) recipe from Meadist.com and it calls for one oak spiral in for 3 weeks. I don't have a spiral, but I do have cubes. What amount of cubes equals a spiral?

I've never had or made anything oaked before, so I don't think "just taste and see when it's ready" is going to fly for me.

Any suggestions?

I don't know what the equivalent is, but for a 5 gallon batch I found 1-2 oz of cubes were fine.
