Whats-up?
Wife got me a home brew kit for Christmas! I guess that is a green-light!!
Im all in... Need some advise on the whole aluminum pot thing... The one that i got is REALLY thin. And when i boil water it, the water turns GRAY! Should i just keep dumping and refilling till the water boils clear?

I tried boiling in my aluminum pot three times with no luck. Bought stainless steel and no more problems.

I think its okay now - I boiled 5 gal of water and dumped it out, 4 times!! But now when i boil and let it cool, the water is clear. I even drank some. It tasted fine... BUT i do wish i would have just popped for the steel pot... Going to brew a 5 gallon batch in the morning!

Cheers!

First batch turned out GREAT! The wife and i are enjoying the fruits of my labor. It is just an extract kit from the shop in town - but is really good! I made a double dry-hoped pale ale. No metal taste from the aluminum pot!

Awesome! That's what I like most about this hobby, being able to enjoy the finished product.

What are you brewing up next? :mug:
