I'm thinking about brewing an American wheat since they're light and refreshing. The neighbors and I have gotten in to a habit of having an after workout refresher most afternoons and I figured a wheat would hit the spot. I was thinking about using...
60-70% pale malt ???
30-40% wheat
.5# Crystal 10
some Willamette @ 60
some EKG around @ 15
targeting around 20-25 IBUs and OG around 1.045
I only have about a pound left of plain Jane 2-row, and I'm wondering if I can sub in Maris Otter since I have some in stock. Just not sure if it'll be too nutty or malty and out of place for a wheat. Any thoughts?
