I am new to brewing and I was excited to make my first starter yesterday. I made some mistakes. I was going to do 1.5 ltr & changed my mind but didn't adjust. 150 gr of dme to a ltr of water . When I was done and put to the flask I didn't bother looking at the volume and had pitched to 800 ml. The yeast is WLP001. It smells good but from what I have read, the yeast is going to be stressed. My question is should I still use it and is there something i can do to help the yeast at this point. I will brew Sunday afternoon.

You should be okay after the yeast settle you'll pour Off most of the wort leaving just enough to stir up the yeast at the bottom when you pitch.

The aim is to make your starters 1.038 to 1.040. Yours ended up being about 1.068. If it has not started fermenting I would boil some water, cool it and add 700ml to the starter.

Then decide if you want to add all the yeast to your wort.
