Going from bucket to carboy after 1 week. I figured i wouldnt need much cider to top of for less air space, so i grabbed some cold cider from fridge, no preservatives just flash pasturized. Thought i would only need cup, so temperature wouldnt matter.... well it took 1/2 gallon, then i also had to add a little water, because i was still short, i filled it to where bottle neck starts. I hope the cold cider doesnt screw everything up, i was pouring it on top of 4 1/2 gallon s of room temp cider, so idk, opinions please.

think that is a good amount of head space, at beggining of neck?

I'm not really one to ask. I've done secondary in a bucket with much more airspace.

I personally think you will be fine. I'm sure some think I'm completely wrong though! :)
