Picked up a couple Vat boxes in shops in smaller Belgian villages for €35-40 per. Not exactly cheap, but a nice way to have some delicious variety in one pickup.

Was going to say! I saw them for 30€, I find them insanely overpriced at $17+/bottle, especially as bostonvert mentioned you can get 750s of 3F/Cantillon/De Cam for that price.

I love some of the vats, but around 9€/375ml is pushing what I think is reasonable.

I paid $55 for the Vat Discovery box here in Milwaukee.

Here, Girardin is $12/375 and Tilquin is $10/375. Reg ass Boon is $10, marriage parfait is $12. Couldn’t tell you on cantillon or 3F - haven’t seen them in years.

$14 ea seemed reasonable for the Vat bottles (limited run, interesting barrels).

It’s the Importers markup. This is what lambic costs in America.

Felt kind of like an ******* because I know it was priced wrong, but I did give them an opportunity to fix it. Oh well.

Had some great beer with my lunch! Timmermans was wonderful, quite sour and full body, perfect lactic sour, soft carbonation. Very dry sour finish, slightly sweet with lots of aroma. It was an early 90's bottle so a real gueuze, very happy that I have a case of 75cl's in the cellar.

The Mort Subite was an 2002 I believe, very soft with citrus aroma. Pretty dark, amber color. It tasted old but was very interesting and yes I know I'm terrible at describing beer! I love these more obscure lambics that usually don't get much attention and are still easily obtainable (vintage bottles that dont cost a fortune)

Not the best at write ups, but I’ll try to give a few words to a picture. I got a more still bottle here. I feel like I’ve seen a lot of people with pretty live bottles. I was very pleased. No pop when the cork came off. Everything kriek jam you usually get but love the mouthfeel, as it’s smooth. Will be interested to see how this develops and if other bottles will have more variation. But this one is sitting just right for me tonight!

Also I guess why I’m coming out of the shadows, will comment on Boon regular gueuze and Mariage parfait, dang. I had a revisit on a 14/15 and a 13, respectively and was very pleased. Will be trying to get these more back in the household.

Today from the newly reclaimed beers we had a ‘13 Kriek, ‘06 Kriek, ‘12 Intense Red. Also consumed an OGV ‘08 and Jonge Lambik

They have some gueuze that they found unlabeled so no idea what year. Pretty old though. All being sold at stupid good prices

Apologies for the ****** pic (and no that pinot is not FT), I always get so excited to taste that the picture usually ends up like this. Ah well--on to the beer itself.
Split this 375 ML '05 OGV with a good buddy yesterday. Label clearly had some damage but the cork was sealed with very little schmudge seeping out around the neck. A nice little pop on the cork, poured almost still with just a hint of carbonation. I poured it cold from the fridge as I like to spend a while sipping and you can really notice the aromas change as it gets warmer and warmer. The first time I had this vintage (2014ish?) I noticed a lot of oxidation from that particular bottle. This bottle did not display nearly as much, and as it warmed I really didn't pick up on any notes. Super funky nose, basement for days with some touches of mint, earth and leather. I opened a herfst recently and I honestly may have guessed herfst if someone gave me this blind. Sad to see it go but really glad I had a chance to revisit this vintage. Cheers islandboi8204
