Blind tasting last night with the seasons. All bottles appeared to be cellared well--each cork popped with lively carbonation but no gushing, corks themselves were in pretty great shape, and no signs of oxidation.
Lente is still maintaining the bright citrus notes I’ve always loved so much; Zomer doesn’t seem to be improving/evolving much, a little one dimensional at this point but still lots of basement funk; Herfst continues to develop incredibly well with touches of mint; Winter also hanging in there but this bottle didn’t show any notes of sherry/blue cheese like previous ones. Still really nice though!
Blind tastings are such a fun way to experience these wonderful bottles of lambic. Aside from trying to guess which bottle you are drinking (3/5 of us managed to guess all 4 correctly) it’s a good palate exercise to experience each beer sans label and eliminate the memories of previous bottles you’ve tasted. Zomer and Lente were always my favorites but I think Herfst may be my favorite right now. Cheers!

Forgot to bring it up when we had it but lambic.info reminded me. Has anyone else gotten a mettalic taste from the Lideman's Blossom Geuze? Had one fresh that was fine but the one I had about a month ago was like licking a fermenter.

Interesting. I sometimes get a metallic vibe from CR but I didn’t with Blossom the few times I’ve had it.

Had one a couple of weeks ago. No metallic taste that I noticed.

I see 164,99€ before shipping.

I was messing around with it to see what shipping would be. When I put in my info, the price suddenly changed to 136.36€. Then 99€ for shipping. So it is just under $300 with the ****** exchange rate.

I never ordered from Beergium before, so 1st time discount? Discount for people from the US? (insert shrugging guy emoji here)

Prices lower when you log in.

Thoughts on beersel oud geuze with a little age on it? A bottle shop near me had a cellar sale with 2010 bottles for 10$. I grabbed one, but haven’t tried it yet. Any improvement with age or pretty much the same?
I've had a lot of old Oude Beersel and it's good. I'd buy every last one!

Buy them all and spread em around

I picked up a Horal Megablend 2013 today.
The 2009 I once had was amazing good , but the 2011 was not. Maybe the 11 was a bad bottle or something?
Any thoughts about the 2013 anyone? Never tasted this one before so I'm very curious about it.

I prefer the 2015 which I absolutely love. 2011/2013 are close imo, the 11's I've had have been terrific but 13 is close
