Second and eighth letters of the alphabet, B and H, for Blood and Honour

Seriously nazi ****

Gotcha. Here it's mostly about this 88 ********. Something about 88 tenets of nazism or 88 sounds like HH or something like that. I'm not 100% up on it but I try to be since this kind of hatred threatens all society. I'll keep the 28 in mind as another flag.

hm. I thought 28 is more of an American code (like 14 words), whereas 88 is ubiquitous (and not ******** at all). If you ask any random German person if they know what 88 stands for, they will say "yeah, it's a neo-nazi symbol". They probably won't recognize 28 or 14 words.

Its meaning is basically HH (because H is the 8th letter of the alphabet), but it also can stand for SS if you count the alphabet backwards.

Also, was this seriously the first Godwin's law application in 719 thread pages? :D

Yeah I don't mean ******** as in "don't take this seriously," I mean ******** as in **** nazis.

Also, does it count as Godwin's law? I don't think there's been an actual comparison to nazis, only nazi-chat and speculation that maybe some guy with a cellar might be a nazi...

For the record, I was born in 88 (hence the username) and would like to denounce nazism and all forms of bigotry and intolerance.

Just did a quick google translate and honor in German is “ehre” so it should be 25. Unless this European is into English centric neo nazism.

Or he was born in 28 and using is advanced aged to gain sympathy from Cantillon employees and score all the seasonals. Geriatrics can be tricky like that.

well, the B&H network was founded in the UK, and that's the name of the network. (which is why I said earlier that 28 is more of an American symbol, or at least I thought so)

Its name comes from an engraving that the HJ used on their knives and from the name of the Nürnberg race laws, but B&H is indeed an English-centered organization.

"Brasserie Belle-Vue has a long and sometimes controversial history of innovation, takeover, and survival among the lambic brewers and blenders. It was founded in 1913, by a café blender named Philémon Vandenstock (1886 – 1945). The owner of a bar in Brussels, Vandenstock, along with his wife, bought wort from various lambic breweries in the city and began blending fondgeuze for the establishment. Shortly after they began their blending business, World War I broke out leaving few resources to continue. Finally, in 1927, the Belle-Vue Café in Anderlecht became available. Vandenstock purchased the building as an outlet for his lambics; serving five other cafes in the area while also selling directly to customers. From 1927 onward, the blendery would market itself under the Belle-Vue name with a mention to Ph. Vandenstock usually visible somewhere on the branding.[1]

The business flourished under Philémon, leading to the first brewery acquisition by Belle-Vue in 1943: Vos-Kina, a lambic brewery located in Sint-Jans-Molenbeek. The acquisition of the brewery came at a difficult time in Europe’s history, right in the middle of World War II. While many breweries were struggling through the war, Belle-Vue was growing. Now able to brew his own lambic, Vandenstock also brought his son Constant Vandenstock and his son-in-law Octave Collin Vandenstock into the business to help manage.[1] Sadly, Philémon was arrested by the occupying Nazi forces in 1944 and sent to the Neuengamme concentration camp where he remained until it was liberated in May of 1945. He died just one week after the camp’s liberation."

How can someone have that many loon bottles?????
More than likely its a group of people working as 1 account, or he just hires 10-20 people for every big lambic release. Jean said that most of the people in line for LPH/Nath/Fou had no idea where they were or what they were doing.

Was at a restaurant here in Milwaukee that had 1997 vintage Grand Cru Bruocsella for $250. They don’t have a bar, so you can’t just go in there and order a bottle.

At first blush, that price seems ridiculous, but the more I think about it, the less I think it is. Assuming a 2x to 3x markup for on premises, that’s $80 to $125.

Assuming a bottle of GCB is $25 or $30, is $125 plus a 2x on-premises markup that crazy for a 20 year old bottle?

If you have the $, I’d definitely bang it. $250 for a once in a lifetime experience with a lambic that seems to age beautifully. It would be different IMO if you were gambling with a 20yr fruited lambic.

Curious as to where? I couldn't talk my wife into spending that much... :(
