How does the reservation system with Etre work? I've always filled a box to get the most out of shipping and just shipped it.

If you reserve stuff, you pay now and then they stay in your account? Can you check the weight of your box and experiment with what you've reserved and what's available as you can when just ordering to ship now? Just curious as there are often bottles that pop up that interest me but I'm not in the position to fill up a full box at the time.
Yes, you have to pay for the bottles before reserving. There's a quarterly shipment deadline so they'll hold them for up to 3 months. You can go into your order history and check the weight on the bottles there and add it up. Then just email them when you're ready to ship and they'll tally up your weight and send you an invoice for the shipping cost.

Generally, they like you to fill a box quarterly. Buy, they hold when you have your desired weight limit, email them to pay for shipping. Depending on the bottles you are looking at 5 750's or 10 750's, roughly

Do they factor in that extra Kg or so of the packaging? I'd hate to let my drunken math cause me to slip into the next shipping category because I didn't factor in box weight or something.

I messed up last quarter with my shipping weight and 3 different orders. Jonathan emailed me right away to let me know I was slightly off cause I considered a lower packaging weight for the order when making my estimate (I forgot it goes up the more bottles you have). Anyway, he let me know and asked what I wanted to do. In the end he was able to make it work and get it all in the box anyhow, but needless to say they are quick to replay and have great customer service through email.

Like mentioned before, you can always email and they'll let you know how much room you have left. I usually try and find in-stock bottles with the same weight as the ones I previously bought, add them to my cart and then add additional bottles to play around with the shipping and get an idea of what I can add without going into the next tier.

Packing materials add 15% more weight.

So add up the given weights of the bottles you've selected, multiply the total by 1.15, and if you're under 38 lbs, you're good to go.

If only a nice, smart, handsome, young man let you guys know how it works before....

Just input the bottles and their weights in Excel or something. They are all listed on the site. Multiply the weight of the bottles by 1.15. If you're under 38lbs or whatever the **** it is, you're good.

Etre rocks.

Can you guys stop convincing me to spend more money on beer, k thx.
testify

i was quick to ignore the ~$60 per bottle of hommage on etre or whatever it was. contemplated the honey badger batch of A&G but said nope to that as well. now im curious what said honey badger brings to the cuvee yard

After having Honing at Shelton, it's probably awesome. I somehow showed restraint and didn't purchase any either. Surely I'll regret it after someone brings it to a bottle share.

Yeah it's a blendery. I guess they'll be getting wort from Elgood's, maybe Burning Sky and likely some of the Belgians. Bar should be a decent spot to drink Lambic as well.

Looks like a really cool spot, hope it opens by the next time I visit. Wish we had something like that.

Isn't The Sovereign at least part owned by the Shelton Bros? They have some of the best, if not the best, year-round lambic selection in the US.

Cantillon just posted that they will be doing another online sale "within some weeks".

Also it looks like they have a new system for controlling bottle sales. lpf nath and fou are cut off for the week.

That's the right way to do crowdfunder rewards - all pledges turned into 2x bar credit ie pledge £50, get £100 to spend in the bar after opening. Assuming they have a decent on-site list as suggested, that's pretty tempting.

Jonny and Luke confirmed on the other TB that they've been cellaring stuff for a little while. Won't be available at launch but looks like it could grow into something pretty cool.

You bought a load balancer for a beer sale? That's commitment... Im not sure how it helps , but keep it up

Recent experiences with NY customs? Previous boxes went through fast. Current box was "processed through... ISC new York" on the 3rd. When to worry?

I would check whatever destination USPS it's going to. That's happened to me several times where the tracking just isn't updated and it was there waiting for me. Good luck!

Yeah probably. My local also happens to be a local hub so YMMV.
