Its apparently making its way to SF (as per a friend of mine who is a beer buyer for a local store), so I would guess that it'll make its rounds across the US, but if you feel safer buying off Etre or BIAB you might as well go for it.

Yeah see I don't feel better buying off Etre or BIAB unless I absolutely have to. Would much rather send someone beer in exchange for them grabbing it off the shelf somewhere in America. Or something.

I'll ask my buddy who happens to be a Remarkable rep. :)

Will report back.

No worries. I bet they're incredible and after I drink them they'll finally show up everywhere and I'll just buy more because there's literally no such thing as too much lambic.

Specs Smith St actually had a nice little cache of 109s on the shelf last week.

No idea if they're getting the box sets.

My tasting group sort of stumbled into a fun Boon tasting last night, including most (all?) of the Vats that have been released:

Consensus was that something was kind of off with all the older ones. 44, 77, and 79 were pretty sweet and perfume-y, with 79 being distractingly so, there wasn't much else going on. The only older one that got much love was 109, but as a group we preferred some of the newer ones. I think 91 was the consensus standout, but none of the new box set were let-downs. Also, get the box set, the booklet that comes with it is great (partly in a "bad translations are funny!" way but also there was some good information).

We also did the new Black Label, a Oude Geuze 2014-2015, and a Mariage Parfait 2013. The general preference was for them in that order, with the Mariage Parfait again being oddly sweet. But the Black Label was fantastic, not very funky but dry and tart, overall a great beer. My recollection is that I was underwhelmed by B2, but the B3 is great.

Were the older ones stored vertically or horizontally?
