I casually check this thread for the first time in days, only to find I'm 6 minutes too late.
Isn't it ironic...
Don't you think?

I missed them all. Guess I won't be flipping them for tater tots IPAs after all.
2 of 3 still up. No chance I'm spending the money but it's interesting they didn't sell out immediately.
Are there really that many people itching to pay $200 for these bottles?
(And yes yes, I know it's cheaper than a flight to Belgium or secondary prices, that's still a lot of cash.)
I was adding shipping. But if you change it to $185 or whatever the point still stands, that's a lot to drop for a single bottle. It's just not the same thing as the previous sales. This will probably still be a shitshow because there's no such thing as a nice time in beer in 2017, but it seems really silly to me that people aren't stopping to think about whether some grape beer is actually worth that.
Same. I have no justification. My wife's reaction was just "oh Stuart". About sums it up...
Same hereI had a La Vie est Solidaire all set, but took a deep breath and stepped away. I still don't know if I'm proud of myself or pissed at myself.

I feel dirty. BUT- Tissot!I can't believe I just spent $200 on one bottle of Cantillon. That's up there with the stupidest beer **** I've ever done.

Everyone who missed will have plenty of opportunities to buy them on resale sites and Facebook raffles in a few minutes.

What's your point? Plunking down that cash on that bottle was kind of dumb. The number of people interested in doing so was probably significantly higher than the number who actually have that kind of cash spare. I'm not in the latter group, but it was still kind of dumb to do.Apparently.

I don't really see how. My entire argument was that the release should be smoother than the previous ones because a significant number of people should be priced out. Then the release was smoother! (At least for me, ymmv.)Irony. Irony is the point.
