There's a guy on MyBeerCellar with no previous selling history who has been selling lambic whales at way discounted prices (relative to what they usually go for) over the past two days. Yesterday was a Crianza 750ml for $500, today a Millennium Geuze for $475.

I drank my Crianza while eating a cheeseburger.

I'm doing it all wrong.

Anyone else try not to eat anything when they have expensive lambic? More often than not the flavors clash / **** up the taste of the lambic unless you're eating something really neutral like bread or something.
I find that gueuze pairs best with a nice slice of Wonder Bread.

Edit: God damnit, now you deleted your comment so I look crazy.

I like a good sharp cheddar with gueze. The last 3F OG I drank I had some blocked cheese and saltine crackers cause I'm fancy.

June 9, 2011 – Moving my cellar last weekend I found this bottle had leaked to about where the body of the bottle starts to taper into the neck. I figured there wouldn't be much to this bottle but when I uncapped it the cork started to push its way up so there was still plenty of carbonation left in the bottle. 5-8 years old is about where I prefer Cantillon Gueuze and this one is in the perfect spot. No hint of oxidation or age but for a deep brett and oak character. This is not overly sour like some older Cantillon can be and there's no hint of acetic acid. The head didn't stick around for long, but it's got great body and feel. Happy I have a few more of this date left.

Nice, I have a June 2011 (not sure specific date) bottle as well. It holds a special spot for me because it was from my first visit to Cantillon when I had my lambic epiphany. Thinking about popping it when the little one arrives in August.

Had a pour from a 2000 Classic Gueuze yesterday that was straight apple vinegar getting into nail polish remover territory. From a cellar that usually gets good results too, which made it even more disappointing. '99 OG and '00 Girardin were still ******* fantastic though.

It was the empty bottle bit that I was referring to. Are those ads aimed at people with that much ready cash but who are also not detail-oriented enough to read the first three words of the ad?

Those bottles aren't empty, it's just dumb boilerplate that a lot of people stick into their posts for whatever reason. I guess to potentially avoid legal trouble, if it came to that?
I played with the site once and tried listing a beer. I think that every ad automatically adds "Empty Bottle." to the beginning by the site. The user has to delete it. Seems like most people don't.
