This Oktoberfest season is upon us and I’ve stocked up with many Marzen, Festbier and Oktoberfest-type beers as I’ve done a number of times here now. I’m really getting excited – so what’s the holdup already? Well, truth is, on my recent Florida trip I had the great opportunity to stock up with some East-Coast available beers that we just can’t get on the West Coast. The problem is getting them on the plane. Never fear, we have a trade-show booth that is on its slow journey back to SoCal!
I was able to load these along with our other items on our pallet, so we should be receiving shortly for your review and approval! I don’t know how many will have survived the journey, but it should make for an entertaining beer drinking season as we enter Oktoberfest - “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!”
I guess it is also time to put out a great thank you to Total Wine and More, located darned near everywhere I set foot these days. Having that massive rack of individual beers makes beer review tours possible. I’d also like to point out the importance of those singles racks – without them, a lot of those beers would go untested, costs being what they are. Who wants to shuck out $14.99 for 4 cans of some unknown beer you’ve never tried!
As I’m still waiting for my pallet to show up, what better time than to deplete some of my Altbier inventory from the expansive and temperature-controlled Beermeister32 Bierhoard!
You really have to appreciate a brewer as devoted to the craft as Enegren Brewing Company. We have hundreds, make that thousands of brewers out there, and only the best can crank out true-to-style brews like this. I find so many breweries might put out a product claiming that it is this or that style, Energren gets points for actually doing it!
Today’s Dinkster is filled with my very last can of Enegren Valkyrie, their delicious 6.2% ABV, 35 IBU Altbier. If you recall, the humble Becher was re-named to the more befitting “Dinkster” here right here several months ago!
This really is a great beer. These Alts are so hard to come by, stock up any time you can find them down at your local booze superstore. Prost!
