So many great breweries and blenderies and then....... the Veil. Wat.

To each his own... Same could be said about Hof ten Dormaal and Alvinne, though they mostly fixed their infection problems I think. Gustibus et coloribus I'd say :)
(I'd go for The Veil since everything else I have tried or can try on a farily regular basis ;-) )

So you're telling us the Veil is producing authentic lambic in RVA?!

Lets get this **** added to lambic.hub stat!
What are you even talking about? This isn't a Lambic festival, it is a Brussels Beer festival, not style specific. I wasn't defending the selection either, I was offering a possible reason as to why they were one if the only nonBeligian breweries invited. Way to reach though.

Edit: there's also a ton of Canadian and English breweries as well.

Makes sense. Easy access for you guys. Enjoy man!

See, I have that same issue online, I since started using </sarcasm> tags ;-)

But I would confirm it to be a beerfest not a lambicfest. Since most of the breweries there don't have anything to do with lambic.

Thanks for pointing that out. Now I feel even worse for not being able to attend.

Same meh beer, but more €s? Still pass.
I trust your opinion but can you elaborate? This has a wine barrel component in it, is that the "meh" factor?

Im genuinely curious about this one because beersel has been impressing me lately much more than it has in the past. "Fresh" batches of oude geuze have been pretty nice and that green walnut stuff was pretty magical even though it was expensive and I have no idea what the walnuts contributed to it.

It was just an OK gueuze, with almost no wine flavor, if any at all, and some mild oakiness to it. Add to the fact that it is 7€ or so I think it is way overpriced and they are just marketing the heck out of it being an anniversary and something special.
For decidedly less I will take 3F, Tilquin, or Cantillon gueuze. If it were a 7€ Gueuze in a 750ml bottle Id say fine, it is solid, but nothing like the aforementioned beers.

I agree that some of the things they have done lately have been interesting and impressive, such as Green Walnut.Their Bzart stuff I find wildly overpriced though.

Vat 109 I think is spectacular and I need more in my life. For 2€ more I would personally load up on that over the 135.

MikeG good move!
Though I suspect my raving about Vat 109 will bite me in the ass when it is all gone...

I quite liked the bzart millesime and will buy more in the future. At 7.29euro, I'd say it's at least worth it to try 2-4...

Definitely worth trying a couple. Moreover, Oud Beersel has made, and is making, some fine beers; not saying the Bzart beers are bad, just overpriced imo.

Pretty sure those are the same ones they sell at the brewery for €2,50
Also worth noting: they're not high quality. I have the Kriek and Rose ones hanging up and they're obviously pixelated up close. You could probably get about the same effect by taking the biggest file you can find online and blowing it up yourself.

Anyone know if the new batch of 2016 golden blend is in 375s, too? So far just seeing 750 format

Only 750s as far as I know. There's no 375s of golden on the spreadsheet I have from them of upcoming bottlings.
Side note: does anyone but me think Golden Blend is 3F's consistently best beer? Every batch so far has been fire, and they've all aged beautifully (again, so far).
