they had necterine back in stock also. De Cam's version has been one of my favorite belgium beers. order max of all three, no more fram for me however.

Market exchange rate does not reflect the exchange rate a bank will give you. For instance, if you have $100, turn them into euro, then turn them back into dollars, you'll probably end up with around $92.

You speak truth. I worked for 7 years doing international payroll stuff and we had to explain this all the time.

However, with the amount of transactions Pay Pal is doing I guarantee they have negotiated with banks some pretty slick rates. Our little start up was able to do that so I am certain Pay Pal has the FX game on lock down.

Yup. You will never get a spot rate on your exchange. You pay a premium every time (likely points on the spot or points on their contract rate with a financial institution) because most likely they are buying forward rates based on expected exchanges in a single day.

Even if you exchange at a bank, you still pay a premium in one of those 2 ways.

Maybe this is the wrong place for this, but why is Paypal's exchange rate significantly off? One would think that paypal is a rather large company, they would follow market exchange rate, but instead, they're off by 4 eurocents. Aka a 78ish euro order costs 88USD instead of 84-85USD. Multiply this by probably thousands if not millions of transactions per day = hard scamming.

I recently paid for a BiaB order via PayPal but with my Amex, and even with the additional PayPal fee, Amex's exchange rate still came out to be $1.87 cheaper than what PayPal was offering me just withdrawing it from my bank account. Sweet, sweet profit.

You're just now noticing this?
Since PP deducts it in euro on my balance sheet, I do not see how much money I'm being charged in freedom units.

But now that you say that, I've always heard to use amex or another card (I forget which) when making international purchases due to more favorable exchange rates.

YA AIN'T GETTING POINTS OFF THAT DIRECT WITHDRAW FROM YOUR CHECKING EITHER.

Ain't no point in not using a non foreign exchange fee CC for paypal transactions.

You're not using friends and family to pay some shitlord on mbc

Missed Tros Bessen... anyone notice if there was a lower total available than Bosbessen when these first went up today?
Hey Ryan, I remember seeing a stock count of around 60-70ish(?) when it first went up this morning, compared to the 99 of Bosbessen. If you missed it, I got one for ya to open with the next time you come up to the NY/NJ area. :D

Thanks, bud. I managed to snag one when they put up another case :)

Right? My Amex is on fire this month.

This is a thought I had that has been on my mind for a few months now...why doesn't Cantillon release a blackberry seasonal lambic? I love the Mure Tilquin, which I know is part Cantillon wort, I wonder if Jean Von Roy has tried it and didn't like it or he just isn't interested.

Someone please source Driscoll blackberries for Cantillon. I can't get enough of these when they are in season. Perfectly sweet, tart, and on a bodybuilder steroid regimen.

Has there been any further mention of the Magnum Cantillon bottles which have Armagnac as part of the 2 year component in the blend? Has there been any talk of a regular-format bottling of such an enticing blend?
There is such a blend, in bottles (375ml), with a pretty label, not for onsite, not to go...

They're aging, presumably for later release. Also there's part of a St. Gilloise brew in an armagnac barrel.
