While I think this is great (obviously), how is selling a very limited number of bottles at random times going to do anything to defeat the secondary market? Unless these are similar to Bruery stress tests and eventually there will always be bottles up (or at least more frequently)?

I think it handles one problem - mules showing up in person...but creates a different one - mules showing up online. I guess it might be an experiment or maybe they just rather it be out of sight out of mind.

Cantillon mentioned this being a test and that another would come. I wonder how brothers de Sheltwon are feeling aboot this.

Right. I guess what I'm driving at is if this is not going to become a regular thing, mules will still be at the brewery.

Anyone know if/how much the new brewery will expand production? And when we will start seeing it?

so these popped up on the web shop? any screen shots? Just curious.

Huh, little bummed I totally missed this, but maybe this will make some more FTs domestically. I also don't see how the occasional sale online is going to disrupt anything barring a massive increase in production. (Which, actually, might not be too far away, wasn't the new barrelhouse filled last year? And a lot of these beers are mostly 2-year lambic...)

But if they do something that lets you get a handful of Gueuze/Kriek/Rose every year without a ton of hassle (which is conceivable if a bit optimistic) then that's pretty great.

I really don´t think they´ve thought through the whole shipping to the USA thing.
It´s totally illegal and may well cause them some trouble down the line.
One thing is me and Joe next door occasionally sending a box of "snowglobes" to Florida but Cantillon will sell out of everything they put up, which means lots of boxes labelled as.......? plus the accompanying customs and excise attention.

Seriously? With how long JVR has been in this business i'm sure he's well aware of the repercussions of shipping to the states. Not to mention they already do ship non alcohol products from their web shops to the states....he obviously wouldn't bother shipping beer to us if it was going to put his brewery at risk, give the man some credit.

That thought did cross my mind as well but so did the disclaimer they put on their FB post. I figured for a shot at 50N alone at that price point it was worth a go.

Exactly the only reason I'm kind of annoyed that I wasn't around to see this pop up. I don't really care about the other beers but I really wanna try 50N. Hopefully it goes up again at some point.

Looks like I successfully ordered a package from Cantillon's site. Now the question remains: how many orders over 150 were filled due to busy servers? Hopefully I don't get a rejection letter and refund.

If this were a problem wouldn't all the various webstores have run into it by now?

Yeah but those webstores typically don't have deals with U.S. importers. I think this is the difference some people are trying to point out. For what it's worth, I'm happy about it and hope it doesn't come back to bite them.

You're a webstore

Can anyone provide some insight on this cork? Got a bottle of Armand & Gaston in today. The cork seems to be slightly dislodged. I'm only concerned because of reports I've heard of bottles damn near exploding. Should I be worried? Drank a bottle last night, so planned to sit on this one for a little while, but I don't want it to explode. For what it's worth, the cage appears to be fully intact. Mostly I'm just anxious and would like my nerves calmed. Thanks ;)

I received an A/T a while ago that looked remarkably similar, and like you I had planned to save it for a while. Got paranoid about it, opened it, and it was absolutely perfect. I wouldn't worry about it much.

A lot of them are showing up like that. I would open it in a Pyrex bowl so that you don't lose any. Its really carbed. Sit it on its side for 24-48 hrs. If none leaks out, I'd say you're good to age it.
