First time I tried this one , good stuff

Sweet mother of christ, this was bottled?!!!!!??!?!!!!
That cru was my favorite brew the last zwanze day I attended. Is this an onsite only kinda thing?

Popped my Mure cherry or uh, blackberry last week:

Didn't get a ton of fruit out of it. It was a touch sweeter as it warmed. Tilquin is always top notch, so a great beer, just not as different from the gueuze as I had hoped.

Online order or local pickup?

I need that mure for the fruit horizontal.

My bet is the late summer last year has messed up all the estimated release times. Knock on effects of later brewing days, backlogs of beer to be bottled/labelled etc., etc

Place with 24 seats that has people lining up at 6am for releases is a fantastic Zwanze location.

Zwanze really seems like a celebration of just how ******* stupid beer is now.

Hehe, I mean I see what you're saying, but would add the following:
A: Including the room on the side, there's enough room for about 75 people
B: Its fitting that the one good sour brewey in NC should get zwanze.
C: They have a lot of outdoor space they could use, as they do for draft pours at releases.

Do you think cantillon wants to rep a company like WW? They are a huge cashgrab producing mostly less than good, and overpriced sours. They made it clear they would rather do breweries than bars this year. Where would you suggest they put zwanze in NC?

*Edit, I'm guessing anyone outside of the Carolinas doesn't want to see it in NC, so that's understandable.

Before I say anything else I'd like to point out that as an NC resident this is great news that we are getting a Zwanze Day.

A few points though;

Yes, FF makes some killer stuff in the sour/funky realm. However they are a small operation currently and do not distribute. Shelton Bros is itching to get them as an account. Preferably before FF's offsite production facility opens. Proof Wine and Spirits (a distributor in NC) just acquired the entire Shelton Bros catalog, therefore you can connect the dots here. Remember the breweries do not nominate themselves, they are nominated and then can choose to accept (surprise, most accept).

The issue is the location and tickets. There are going to be 100-200 tickets available for this event. Yes, that's not a lot I understand. But picture that number of people in the brewery. Slammed, even including outdoors. I have no doubt that the staff there will do a great job, but regardless of the procedures in place it is going to be pretty chaotic. They are not holding the event downtown or at their new production farm. They don't have proper licensing to serve there yet. Also if they do online ticketing (which seems like the most logical option) you're going to have to take into account all the people in surrounding states that are going to clear their weekend in order to attempt to go. Even moreso, people who want to do this and then go to Asheville afterwards to wrap up their WNC beer weekend trip.

Needless to say, it's going to be interesting to see how it unfolds.

Yep, all true, and some great points there. I might add that, even though its bigger, and my favorite bar that I've been to in the US, holy grale (2014) was a shitshow for 4-5 cantillon tappings. Took about 15-20 min just to get through to the bar, just completely swamped the whole time. They did bring out zwanze to people which was nice, but with over 100 people trying to get pours of fou/mamouche/etc from the same bar at the same time it was pretty insane. I believe they tapped kegs in hour increments. But yea, you are right. I agree that it will be extremely crowded. Also, I've seen FF in a lot of bottle shops, so not sure if all of them drive to FF, or if its brought in, but ff in bottle shops happens all over Charlotte and some of the raleigh area. Good discussion here.

Regular cantillon gooze back in stock on biab. Since it's 2016, I think it's news? (Yes I added to my order)
