I am new to Cantillon. I just checked Belgium in a box and Etre and they didnt seem to have what I was looking for. How often is Cantillon replenished at these online shops? How often should I be looking for example if I want to find LPF?

Also, has anyone seen LPF sold in the US?

this doesn't really happen anymore, it used to be the case when sales were slow in belgium i guess but now it doesn't make sense for them to deal with the hassle of shipping international when they can easily sell domestically for any markup for the non standard releases

Several years ago you could pop on certain sites and fill up a cart with 50n, Fou, 3F Seasons, and everything else under the sun. You literally have to be on the site within minutes of inventory being updated most times to get anything, and its never the more difficult to find bottles anymore. Not really worth the hassle of trying.

So are you saying don't bother? That sucks. Should I try trading with someone in Europe? Has anyone been able to get LPF in the last 6 months? Would really like to see some more positive thinking....haha

What he's saying is don't bother trying to buy it online, because it's more trouble than its worth. Yes, trading is likely to be your friend.

So I placed my first Etre order yesterday (no Fou but some good stuff), and I got an email from them describing the problems with LAX customs. Has anyone here had a box confiscated there lately?

Sounds like it's been dicey enough lately that BiaB and Etre have stopped shipping West Coast orders. Which, of course, sucks for those of us on this side of the country. Paying the extra bucks to ship through an East Coast friend seems to be the way to go.

I have. Don't do it.

BIAB opened up again to shipping to the west coast a few months back. I ordered right after that and lost my first ever box.

I am having it reshipped now to Kansas. :-/

A lot of boxes from Belgium have been coming through SF with no problem for me, but I think it's a crapshoot whether it hits ground in SF or LA. A year ago, anything that went through LAX for me got held for 3 weeks and then sent back. (BTW, I'm located in LA)

That said, I'm in a similar predicament. I've been having my boxes sent to a friend in Philly who has then brought them out here for me when he comes and visits (he comes often enough that it's NBD).

However, said friend is moving to the west coast at the end of June. I'm ISO someone on the east coast who I can use as a forwarding service. Anyone with experience doing this kind of thing? I'd, of course, cover shipping, assume liability, and return the favor in the form of thank you beers.

I did this for buzzword and his buddy last summer. Had to repack three boxes because they were all busted up and sat in the rain and I didn't want to risk sending them on another 3000 mile journey, but it was easy enough (and no casualties!)

I appreciate all the feedback on Etre shipping everyone.

Looks like I'll be sending that box to my parents house in Tennessee. It just might be a while before I enjoy all that wonderful lambic.

Guess we should thank ABI for aquiring Del Borgo. More special Cantillon bottles at Quintessence!

I probably shouldn't do this, but Raf/Bokkereyder is amazing!
Highlight of NotGT for me. The grape blend w dornfelder, Pinot noir and regent grapes was delicious, the cognac and blueberry was nice and unique, and the passion fruit was otherworldly!

Side note: we will have a few of his beers up for auction at Brews for New Avenues 2016, aug 27:)

This. The Wind in the Willow was knockout. No surprise they were sold out in no time. Serious business.

And what is different between Del Borgo beers yesterday and Del Borgo beers today? I can understand the attitude to AbInveb, but why is translated to a fellow brewer? Don't invite Del Borgo next year, but is only 2 weeks for the event.....

If your hundred year old family business was almost ruined by the big guys in the 70s and 80s, why would you want to do anything to support the big guy's success today?

A brewer can still be a friend, even if he works for someone you don't support. I have plenty of friends in my industry who work for Evil Corp, but we're still friends. Doesn't mean I support Evil Corp though.

Support? Like if the people who go to the event import them if Del Borgo is AbInv or to AbInv knows that Del Borgo participe in a Cantillon event. Beers are the same and the event is very close. If the event wasn't announced I would understand it, even if this were within next months.
Said this, I don't mind, really. But I think this isn't fair.

Perfectly stated!

Better take JVR up in the refund offer and skip the event then.
