Can we all just stop? This is totally ridiculous.Saw a hundo of a bunch of the bottles, then came back from a run, and GONE.
I agree. You're not saving much time typing hundo instead of one hundred.

...but I just needed to fill a box so that I can finally get that Fantome/Grimm collab shipped. Can we all just stop? This is totally ridiculous.

I dont see the point in getting frustrated with people talking about beers becoming available for sale online regardless of which shop is offering it. Isnt that part of a lambic discussion? For some folks, that sort of info is greatly appreciated.
Would it be better if a seperate thread was started exclusively for lambic online restocking/sale notifications? Then, the frustrations of getting "shut out or missing out" can be kept inside there too.
My comment isn't directed at the discussions of online purchases, but rather the reflexive tendency to purchase as much as possible no matter what.I dont see the point in getting frustrated with people talking about beers becoming available for sale online regardless of which shop is offering it. You say that, but I tried to offer SARA for regular Cantillon Gueuze and got one trade worked out. This **** is getting absolutely absurd.People fighting to get classic, kriek, and rose is absurd. I could probably just trade Last Snow bottles for them instead.
IMO, yes.Has anyone who just returned from Belgium had this year's RDG? As good as the September bottling?
In terms of gueuze, at least Cantillon isn't really any better or worse than 3F, Tilquin, and Hanssens (when they are on). Not that people haven't already started catching on to Tilquin and 3F. We're pretty much ****** on the fruited stuff though. You say that, but I tried to offer SARA for regular Cantillon Gueuze and got one trade worked out. This **** is getting absolutely absurd.
Short version: Girardin and its U.S. importer don't want BIAB/Etre cutting into their established importing channel.
By this definition, one might believe that the only distinction between OG and OGV from a given vintage is that Armand himself cellared one and the other went to customers to cellar.
I think its more sophisticated than that.
I would be really suprised if just any old bottle from a specific vintage was the same as an OGV from that vintage based on this selection process (and my anecdotal experience). If I am wrong here...
ISO 08 OG
So I noticed some trade lists for magnum bottles of Cantillon Grand Cru popping up.
I can't find any info here or lambic.info, does anyone have a scoop on this? I'm guessing they are brewery only? Price/limits?
Cheers!
It's pretty astounding how fast it all went. Etre posted on Facebook, which I'm sure is how the world caught it. I set their Facebook to send me notifications, but I don't get the notification until over 20 minutes later, which is useless.Generally, yes. Because it doesn't cost you anything extra to reserve the bottle (other than the price of the bottle, if purchasing anything over 25 euros). That **** went quick though. Saw a hundo of a bunch of the bottles, then came back from a run, and GONE.
it's really stupid. people hoard it like its never going to be made again. zzzzzzzMy comment isn't directed at the discussions of online purchases, but rather the reflexive tendency to purchase as much as possible no matter what.

Seriously? Boon goes for about a euro? So freaking jealous!

Beat?If you have an unfruited AWA id rather drink than cantillon for $20/bottle, I'm all ears...
Honestly, I prefer Cantillon Classic to Beat. I think New Glarus Vintage 2014 is one I prefer to Cantillon Classic. My favorite American gueuze.Beat?

Beat is $20/375. Cantillon is $20/750.Beat?

While I don't disagree with you whatsoever about the value of snatching-up Cantillon online when it's available, I do have one beer that fits this description for me: Allagash Resurgam.
Fair point.Beat is $20/375. Cantillon is $20/750.
