latest batch of golden blend arrived with no leakers. hoping the same for the rest of you etre ballers.

My first catch of Golden Blend were all leaking but the second catch had no leaks.

Speaking of Chris Gillard, his Zwanze event in Arlon was superb - aside from a Beatles cover duo that were pretty decent, and bottles of 2012 St Lam (super-funky and tannic) and Vig, there was a keg of a new batch of Rhubarbe (aka Zwanze 2012) that was kegged on August 31 this year. I've never had it fresh but the rhubarb on this was massive. I guess bottles will be around at the brewery in the next few weeks.

I agree. Every time I talk to them I tell them how much I'd love to see it back on a bottle. Even a throwback style bottling for just one run.

The girlfriend IE split the bottle, not the price. She's a big wine fan though so it seemed fitting

$55 is about twice the typical bottle price (which I think of as being ~$25-30), so for a bar that's perfectly reasonable. I'm not sure I'd do it, but if I were in the right mood I would go for it.

Even at Moeder, just down the road from Cantillon, I think is is €30 so I would say that is pretty reasonable.

My last bottle of this, and it will be missed. Darker than I remember. Very nice, musty nose with a tiny hint of oxidation. No carbonation, but the taste is in an absolute perfect place for me. Slight tartness, could trend toward acetic soon, lemony, big grain-forward noted that help to subdue any unpleasant sour notes. Really happy I opened this now, but it still has some legs I think.

In my limited experience, the carbed bottles are about 10x better. I thought the flat ones were pretty meh, but the carbed bottle was a real standout.

Tilquin2 is even better now than it was at release. Glad I have a couple 750s stashed away.

I've had both bottles, and don't have a particular preference mostly because I really enjoy still lambic, whether it's straight lambic or a gueuze that hasn't carbonated. Taste wise, this one I had was absolutely on point.

I never liked still lambic/gueuze.

Then I had 3F Doesjel '06.

Life-changing experience.

Had at a bar on friday in ATL. $24. Slightly carbonated and the smell was really vibrant blackberry but I didn't get very much blackberry on the taste. Not a bad lambic but was very underwhelmed with this. Good news is that they gave me a free pour of tilquin gueuze because they brought me the wrong beer at first. That was a great beer.
