Stocked up local or online? Haven't seen the Namur version outside of visiting during TdG

What are all your opinions of Mariage Parfait. It has always been one of my favorite Gueuzes, such a unique flavor profile and one of my funkiest gueuze's I've had the pleasure to imbibe. Some bottles have had almost a mushroom like quality (in a good way) to them with subtle acidity and a perfect, if not a tad high, level of carb. It's my go to beer for the most part as it's extremely accessible. Anyone have experience drinking vintages with over 10 years of age on them? Very intrigued to try some with that amount of time on them.

I thought Vat 77 was pretty great. Lemon and loads of oak for sure. Think its got a good future and went back and cleaned out my local on it.

That's a fair point. What I was thinking is that I really like every beer in that pack (excluding Mure and the Prunes de Namur, which I haven't had yet), so I don't feel like I'm compelled to buy a big box full of ****** beer just to get that one bottle of Mure (which was my view of the Framboos box that I passed on). I bought a box and am looking forward to getting a whole lot of Tilquin. Don't make me second-guess it.

If you go by the average price you would pay on shelf in America for all of those Tilquins then the price is extremely reasonable. Of course shipping changes the equation but based on bottle price alone it's super fair.

Drank my first bottle of that the other night. Very impressed. Impeccably balanced beer, an improvement on the standard Cuvee Rene in just about every way--mouthfeel, funk, acidity, all of it spot on for a freshly bottled gueuze, with the Lindemans house character of course (which I love anyway). So glad I bought a fuckton of these.

I hope you cross posted in the markintiharing thread. And as red viper said. I'm glad I bought a fuckton as well. The bottle is nice too, no the usually Lindemans clunker. I hope it can hold the carbonation if this one continues to carb up a little more over time.

Armand has said he doesn't distribute to Australia/wasn't aware of his beer being sold in Australia. So it would seem they go through one of the European distributors.

Yep. $30 a pop wasn't too bad for that stuff if it is nearly as good as the last batch.

Nothing about >$32/shipped is reasonable. Then again, this thread is exactly why prices keep going up. Not like Tilquin/3F/cantillon are seeing any of the extra $$ from this hosing.

I think most of the prices on the normal Euro sites are very reasonable, its getting them to America that is expensive, and even the online store owners don't have control over shipping rates. Just think if the guys in Europe tried to buy a case of BCBS from the states shipped to Europe. I'm guessing over $130 in shipping alone.

Agreed that the last batch was excellent.
You shoulda threw some cheapy 375s in there to make that shipping a bit more economical. I topped off a max 30kg box yesterday, and shipping came out around $111, so only $3.70 per kg.

I don't know if many people have had Mure yet but I thought it was pretty underwhelming/disappointing. Also very little carb to speak of, needs way more time in the bottle.

The main lesson I learned from my first trip to Belgium was that there is no Flemish/Dutch word that American beer geeks pronounce correctly. I am curious as well, but my faith in anyone who isn't a native speaker to know how to pronounce anything has been shattered.
