What's the go with 14 'boos. Flat as everyone says?

Bottle we had wasn't highly carbonated, but wasn't flat either. Honestly, I liked it much more than 2011, which was much too blue-cheesy for my tastes.

Well for starters flat things really bother me (partly why I don't like Bruocsella). But yeah, also not very fruity, just all-around kinda "meh". Had it next to Hommage and Hommage spanked it.

Had a boos over the weekend. Was still but still really really great! Lots of raspberry on the palate and a ton of raspberry skins as well. Really delicious stuff. The perfect amount of tart to compliment the beer.


Also had my first experience with st lam (2014) and that was just great. Torn between that and fou as to which is my favorite fruited lambic is.

Wouldn't shock me. Could also be the comparison with Hommage, we opened the Framboos second. Could also be that I really dislike flat sours. I'm sure I'll have it again, maybe my opinion will change.

Yep. Big bottle variation between all the fruited 3 Fonteinen. If I want a fruit beer, I generally go Cantillon. Better overall taste and less variation in my experience.

Framboos b1 I had was insane though and will likely always be the best 3F fruit beer I'll ever have. Smell and taste wise. Was carbed as well.

I wonder if the bottle variation is down to releases possibly consisting of a few batches. This doesn't get discussed too much that I've seen, but I know blenders are often doing a few individual blends for each release due to equipment restrictions.

these were great to check in on as well. the blauw was simply perfection and the roze was great, but paled in comparison to the blauw.


i normally LOVE 50n but wasn't too crazy about it this sat...my palate was probably through the ringer by the time this got opened, but it wasn't the wonderful delight that it has been all previous times i've had it. this time i'm almost positive it was not chilled at all and was decanted in the pitcher about an hour or so? before the first glass was poured.

Drank one Saturday. Super jammy, hardly any carb but not totally flat/faro/whatever. It was good but beyond the fruit there wasn't that much going on.

Agree, Evan. Was a little surprised with the 50N.. couldn't really taste any cognac, even with the decanting.
