Ugh. Possible to get a refund or not really?
I got a refund the hard way filing Paypal transaction disputes. I have no desire to make international phone calls that cost me more money just to get basic customer service.

Same. Will not be doing "hold for later" ordering ever again. FWIW he is saying on their FB page that the BiaB server crashed after the recent newsletter and recovering their systems after that has put them behind. Still...
I had been trying to get him to ship since my last purchase on April 7th before I sent several emails requesting a full refund. I doubt his system was down for nearly 3 weeks.

St. Lam was the only thing they sold out of. Everything else they put up was in huge quantities and is still there. I don't think they put up more than a case of St. Lam.

How much was the St. Lam?

Uh, Skype? International calls with Skype cost pennies.
Again, why should I have to pay for what should be free customer service? Especially when I'd rather have a refund. Yeah let me spend more money trying to get a refund. Makes a lot of sense.

I also do not use Skype because I don't trust it to be secure.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Whatever floats your boat. In my experience all of these stores suck ass at actually responding to e-mails. I think it's a Belgian thing.

I think it was 19.xx Euros. Be on the look out for Trappist to put some up for like $95 later this week haha.
Last time I actually was able to buy a St. Lamvinus off etre it was 18.87 euros. But they charge 1 euro to make a reservation when the total reservation is under 25 euros I think.

Anyone open a Lambikstoemper recently? Curious to hear I how that beer is doing. I believe it's been in the bottle about 18 months at this point.

just got a bottle.. been getting mixed reviews

surely you've noticed how all the seasonals have been going up 1 euro each every time they're added again ;)
Yeah I hardly even bother with Etre anymore. I'm looking at potentially placing an order for a full 2x cases of Fantome though. La Dalmatienne was so clutch I could fill a whole box with that by itself and be content.

Plus saving myself for blackberry tilquin, which will undoubtedly go super fast and be limited on Etre I'm sure.

don't you wipe out my supplier!

Whats the word on if/when the special Cuvee Rene bottles are coming over here?

I think the article I read said US distribution, no clue on when it will happen

The press release says "15,000 bottles worldwide", but some in Belgium are saying it's not coming to the U.S. I've emailed a guy I know at Merchant du Vin to see if he knows anything.

The 750s of Kriek and Rose went pretty quickly. There were about 15 each when I added them to my cart and by the time I went to check out I had to adjust my cart to 2 and 1 respectively.

I had one last night. I agree with others that it's very minerally and very dry which are things I really like in a beer. That being said, I don't know if I would prefer it over a regular 3F or so.

if the cost of a follow up is too prohibitive for you then you shouldn't be ordering beer from overseas anyway.

I have to say, I have had nothing but amazing experiences with BIAB. Kurt always responds quickly to inquiries via email, and the one time when he made a mistake I ended up keeping a bunch of free gueuzes. I've ordered at least 7 times from him. Never an issue. /shrug

It isn't about being able to afford it. It's about how you shouldn't have to pay ANYTHING to get a reply in regards to a purchase from a company.
It would be like if you bought an Audi, and they charged you $100 just to speak to the service department.

Someone is going to steal your lambic info and intercept the package?

You ever had work done on an Audi? Pretty accurate dollar amount. Just saying.

When someone makes the choice to order goods from foreign countries they are presumptuous to think that if there are problems they won't have to make an overseas contact either by phone or other paid service. Stamps cost $. internet costs $. maybe belgium should pay for those too? If you don't like it then take your business elsewhere. It is more akin to ordering bulk t-shirts from Guatemala, and when you receive the wrong shirts, thinking you shouldn't have to call Guatemala to make things right.

You can make an international phone call for a few bucks, that is, if you aren't smart enough to find a free way to do it. Thinking you shouldn't have to do your part to make any business transaction successful screams of ******** entitlement.
