Not sure if it's the one that came to the states, but I wouldn't call it crappy. It's just very different in terms of their other Oude lambiek's. It may not be the best straight lambic out there, but I say it would make a great addition to a gueuze blend. So, if your looking to try it for research then I would do it as it would add a lot of depth and complexity to a gueuze, IMHO.Is the Oude Lambiek De Cam on Etre right now, the crappy one everyone was talking about?
So I took a gamble on some baskets, figuring it'd be a score if they were decent, and not that big a deal if they weren't. Here's the item I ordered. I got 3 of them to make the shipping worthwhile.
I got the box today, and it was pretty badly mangled. Of course, one of them was broken. I can fix it, and Amazon will surely refund my money, but lame anyway. It turns out the product itself is made in China, not Portugal as the listing states. No surprise there really.
All in all it's not a very good product. The baskets are brittle and fragile, which is not good considering they are also a tad small for a 750. You really have to squeeze it in there. (insert joke here) Thus, likely snapping a few reeds as I did. That said, I'll likely get a decent few uses out of them, (they're probably fine for 375ml) though I do imagine having to mend them from time to time.

Then why didn't De Heeren run out? I guess they could've just had much more to begin with, but given how much beer Kulminator has that doesn't seem too likely to me.People discovered that beer (and specifically, aged lambic) is awesome

That's a good point, De Heeren is hard to get to whereas Kulminator is right in the middle of Antwerp. But at the same time, Kulminator is much smaller and you're serious limited in how quickly you can be served because it's just the old owner lady waiting tables (though she was probably faster years ago). I dunno! I've always found Kulminator's relative lack of lambic odd, I guess location could be a good explanation.Well, honestly, I don't know much about bars in Europe but I had never heard of De Heeren till just now. That's one reason I'm so excited for SeaWatchman et als' lambic wiki. I've heard of most of the sought-after one-off lambics, gueuzes, etc, but I know next to nothing about real details regarding them and I don't really know who to ask. Besides you guys.

Kurt makes private items like this for shipping. So this Adam guy probably has multiple orders awaiting shipment, and he gets the link from Kurt, and pays for shipping this way.
