It's seriously awesome. I've not had the 2009, just the 2011 and 2013, but I expect them all in from Canada this spring so I will certainly be stocking up.
I haven't had 2013 yet (ordering one soon), but 2009 and 2011 have both been delicious for me as well. Just a great "all-around" geuze. Looking to actually participate in the Toer de Geuze one of these years.

I did TdG last year and it was an amazing time. If you end up going in 2015 let me know and I'll let you know some of the stuff our group planned out. Check with me before ordering the 2013.... (serious, I can probably help)

I've read the whole thread, but don't recall any mention of lambickx either ther lambic or Kriek, I've had the lambic and enjoyed it, but have yet to try the Kriek. What are your thoughts on them?

the kriek is good, but the others can be really hit or miss. one of them (i think the 09-10) tastes like straight-up pennies.

I have never seen Lambicx on a shelf, I've only had it because it was on draft, once. I don't really get why that beer is never out here, V&D sends us loads of everything else and runs events at places. It's strange.

Weird, I know we have at least 4 variations that have been sitting on shelves for months around here.

Did you like the draft sample? did they carb the keg?

right now i could at least find the kriek and the most recent lambic on the shelf, if i looked hard i could probably find an older batch as well

Thoughts on the lambic
I liked the 2011 bottle I tried 2 years ago:

A: Pours a gold-yellow with a small white head.

S: Soft earthy tartness and hay funk. A bit of sweet wheat and lots of oak as well.

T: Light citrus and slightly sweet malted grain followed by a big wave of raw oaky lactic tartness. A bit of a bitter edge on it. Finishes dry with more oak, berry and tart plum skin, and lactic notes.

M: Light carbonation, medium-bodied. A little too thick for style.

O: I really liked this blend. Not the most complex, with a lot of heavy oak, but it's definitely good for a single-vintage blend. Solid.

Seriously.... Girardin Black easily top 3 and often as good or better than 3F.

Discuss.

I too like the girardin a lot and wish it hasn't disappeared from the US shelves. I would drink it more often. It needs to be brought back. Who handled its importing?

D&V is the importer. I think they still import it -- just in fewer shipments. I just picked up a fresh case this morning.

Mariage Parfait is my least favorite geuze and it's not close. Would happily drink Cuvee Renee or St. Louis gueuze over it. Something about the flavors make my mouth say "wtf, this tastes like *******".

Thankfully, I've never tasted dog ****. If if it tastes like marriage parfait, I might end up with a very disturbing habit.
