maybe a tome share with myself, jtclockwork and Pneill316 would help a bit? =]

.....this warms the waters a bit

How was the crowd? I thought about making the trip from Harrisburg, but it was tough to justify since I had plenty on tap at Zwanze. Was mostly curious if there was any discernible difference between tap and bottle, and you suggest not really.

On Monk's website it shows up on their available bottles list. So I may have to pop in this weekend while I'm in Philly, if it's still available.
Wait, a TB user from Harrisburg whom I donno? How did this happen...

it was pretty dead to be honest. we showed up around 5:15 and there were a few open tables. i even heard they started doing pours of the 20 for $12 after we left.

i managed to get over to Monks last night with DJPhresh and jtclockwork to drink the new 20 Years of Friendship bottle

similar to draft in my opinion but still as lovely as ever. the rhubarb really softens the raspberries making for a more enjoyable form of LPF in my opinion. hopefully Monks puts these back out slowly over the years so we can see how they age! SeaWatchman

Given the bottle count (which isn’t publicized, sorry), I would bet on it being around for quite some time. Glad to see a new review of it! I had it in June and thought it was a bit sour but I had it in Denver again during Shelton and could tell it had come around a bit.

oh yes it'll definitely be around, the bottle count is pretty high. i also thought it was more sour/acidic on draft when i had it in June, it was definitely smoother in Sept. at Zwanze and now even better out of the bottle!

Haha. I believe we may have interacted on a different website at some point long ago (same name for me), and at the very least know some of the same people.

All is right with the world now!

I think I remember Michael mentioning bottling magnums of the original AG geuze that they were keeping back due to pressure. Do we know this is that specific bottling?

So these are some especially wonderful blend that was set aside and named vintage like the standard OGVs? I’m a bit confused by this.

I’ve just created pages for both of these new beers on the site. They’re being released in the same spirit as the original OGV releases with the Nachtlichten labels after being held back at the brewery for extended aging or conditioning.

I’m not sure it was a consideration from the perspective of taste evolution.

When Michael mentioned it, whenever the initial AG was released (early 2016?), he refered to the magnums as unfit for sale due to them being literal bombs. With a chuckle.

The 75cl and 37.5 were already really dangerous to open...

The worst was still fresh Tilquin batch 1 geuze. Had to open those near a sink.

Moreso than, what was it... 2011/2012 that had a label taped on the neck to open with caution? I dont remember the first bottling being that explosive. It has been a while though.
