Well, right, if you think the beer isn't worth that price, then what difference does it make to not drink it? There's plenty more beer out there.

For some reason beer people need to feel like they have the possibility to tick every bottle. And if they can't, oh boy... They get mad about it.

Generally when manufacturing a liquid product, the product itself makes up 5-20% of the total cost. Mine is around 12%.
Bottle, cap, boxes, cork, cage, machinery, labor, taxes, etc etc. The list or marginal and fixed costs goes on and on.
Then there are products like detergent, that make up probably <4% of the total cost haha.

This also your case man? We started a group message in case any of ours start moving, I will gladly add you but yeah we are all "processing abroad" and USPS says "Pre-Shipment".

Last year I had a box take 5 weeks to show up. No updates and a group of us had shipped 8 boxes. The other 7 took 2 weeks.

I have had a box randomly stuck "inbound into customs" for quite a while in NY. Then it just started moving randomly. I know some people have had stuff go "missing" for a while from overseas. It seems random the problems one can have. They usually show up though.

Yep, that's where I'm at in terms of status although it isn't for one of those Cantillon orders. Normally I'm pretty relaxed but this is one box I REALLY don't want to go missing.

EtreGourmet has bottles of De Cam’s Raspberry/Elderflower and Apricot/Rhubarb lambics available. Grabbed one of each. Never had either, but from what Ive read, past batches were great.

On a somewhat De Cam related note, are there other four year lambic blends that have been bottled besides De Cam’s Gooikoorts, 3F Golden Blend, and Lindemans CR SB2010? I cannot find any info on one released by Cantillon, other producers, or blenders. Any info appreciated!

There's another 3F one which is possibly still available at Himmeriget. Was originally sold at the first Sour & Bitter festival which is a sort of occasional warm-up event for the Mikkeller/Copenhagen Beer Celebration some years.

I'm in this camp. It's been close to two weeks since my original email to Kurt. I've actually have very positive experiences with BiaB in the past, which is why I opted to go with them. But this is pretty frustrating.

I've communicated that, absent a response to my email by EOD Monday, I would like my proxy order cancelled.

Did you end up switching to Etre? Curious if they were able to provide a timeline or anything. I'm considering cancelling with BiaB. The lack of the most basic information/response is frustrating.

I was thinking more in the sense of a gueuze / blending 4 year lambic with 1, 2, and 3 year lambics, but that beer you linked looks ******* incredible. I hope you got to try it!

And Cantillon did make a 2-3-4 year old blend. They bottled them as magnums and put them in those bombshelter thingies to age, but served some at 2016 and 2018 Quintessence.

You are correct that I was incorrect on the De Cam. For some reason I thought NClambic’s post last week was from a couple years ago. To be fair, he is on the vanguard, so it was not unreasonable for me to think he found this beers years before me.

Also Holy Crap that 2-3-4 sounds awesome. Very very cool. I hope someone makes a blend of 4 years of lambic that gets wide release. Very interested to try these!

i had a 2013 megablend this weekend and it about knocked my socks off. minerality and vibrant stonefruit aromatics, moderate acidity, dry, and finishing with a really pleasing bitterness.

if other bottles are in near the same place as mine was, this blend has a lot of life in it.

I forget if they bottled 750s as well, but at Quintessence they were definitely being poured from magnums.

That sounds right, I thought I had seen 750s at some point, but was not sure. I do not remember it being poured at 2014 Quint, but definitely at 2016 and 2018.
