SeaWatchman I think the better question is why do you think this even has a chance of being good?

I mean, I’m willing to give it a chance. I feel like people are dismissing it out of hand because of who’s making it. Some guy on Instagram is trying to argue that it’s not a collaboration. :rolleyes: I really like all of the components of the blend, so I think it could be really good.
 
Would you get in on it for this price and shipping? I would've ordered one if it wasn't €25 I mean what the **** is that about
Yeaaah it's steep but maybe. I rarely ever drink beer anymore and I'm already used to paying a lot for it so it's a once in while thing.

I'm dismissing it out of hand because it's a "stout"/porter/kriek mix. Literally no brewer/blender in the world could get me excited about that mix. That's some bruery/dogfish head-level "experimentation.
 
Way late into a tasting once we blended 13 hommage with b1 dbh and it was.... not quite as bad as the balut that came out next.
 
Should I drink a standard Gueuze Boon "Gueuze" from 2013, or hold it even longer- anyone have thoughts? Only have one that's why I'm inquiring.
 
If the sticker on the front says 2013, it was probably bottled in 2016 or 17, which is annoying. Depends if you like your bottles aged or fresher... best by date on the back minus 20 years I think.

Decided to experiment a little with 3 years apart and see if my gf appreciated the differences in the same beer...

'17 has a nice woody prominence, some lemon acidity and a short wave of bitterness and a late background funk that lingers, some tannin

'14 is very muted and earthy with a background sweetness, old book/cardboard oxygenation is strongest in this bottle of the three

'11 tastes full and more vinous and tannic than the others, and the low carb makes me wonder if this particular bottle isn't aging the best... I've definitely been more impressed with other '11 and '12 750s than this bottle (although it's definitely enjoyable!), and the '14 is similarly uncharacteristic from the much brighter 750s I've had that taste much younger without the oxidization. Both of the 375s may be suffering a bit from bottle format? Early batch Tilquin 750s can be total bangers, and I wouldn't say the same for these 375s. Fun experiment, and she definitely noticed the differences and used some good descriptors :)

Compton25 im sorry for being a neanderthal and not drinking this outta proper glassware. cant imagine the glass making it taste any better than slamming it right outta the bottle as i grill some pheasant legs, squirrel and dove breasts

Did you drive into some into some animal jamboree in the street and just cook up the carnage? Who eats dove?
