Thanks for the replies. At any rate, maybe this is a sign that the rarer stuff is making its way from east to west in the mitten.

i did

hoping for the best

You had it or you ordered some?

From what I'm reading, one of the parts were aged in wine barrels where the other two are straight oak.

I need to order some reg boon gueuZe to compare. Had marriageparfait but nothing else.

In case this hasn't been addressed, what are peoples opinion about Hanseen's Oude Gueuze? Tried one tonight for the first time and it seemed to be much more sweeter than other gueuze I've had. Also more acidic, not unlike Cuvee Rene.

Drinking this for the first time right now. The aroma is insanity. I was expecting a musty green apple aroma, but this seriously smells like straight lime juice. Amazing stuff.

I really want to try that^ as I loved the flat version. I can only imagine that some carbonation would work wonders.

I really enjoy hanssens and it is a tuly one of my favorites. You will definitely find bottle variation in them with some being super funky and others not as much.

Big Cantillon drop at Etre.. no Foufoune unless it's already gone.. ? They usually leave the "0 units" listings up for awhile.
I would bet my balls there was no Fou. I checked at 7:55 AM, and then again at 8:30AM. The cantillon dropped sometime between then. I did pickup 3 bottles of Boon Cuvee Lambikstoemper. Hoping that gets a little whale-y in the future. That and the label is just cool as ****. Wondering how long I should lay the bottles down for. I was thinking, drink one fresh, age one to drink in a couple years, and trade the other in a few years?

Jesus **** this is getting horrible, between this post and now the 2014 gueuze went form like 70 units to basically sold out. This **** used to just sit for days and days. Now you have to have good luck and a quick trigger finger to get ******* gueuze? Ridiculous.

It is a bit nuts. Glad I saw this post so I could get a whopping three bottles of the 2014 Cantillon Gueuze.

Not only that, but prices continue to climb year-over-year and now limits are imposed on stuff like regular kriek. Advocacy is cool and everything, but all of the "you know you can just buy that on Etre" certainly doesn't help the situation. I remember when I stumbled on Etre several years ago looking for better ways to get lambic in Texas, I was like a kid in a candy store; these days I just get sad when I log on. Oh well.

It's actually slightly cheaper on biab for per bottle (only comes in a 6pack)

Bought one yesterday.

If anyone wants to split cost on a 6pack of them lemme know. I'll help

I doubt it will get very "whale-y". It will be rare in the sense that Girardin Bierpalletiers is rare. Not a ton of bottles (1400 for the Girardin) but no real recognition or desire to have. The Boon is somewhere in the range of 2000 bottles.

It is sad - but it comes with the territory with any limited resource: as time goes by word gets out and those that were "in the know" get squeezed out.

I've seen the same thing with bourbon... cf Pappy craze, etc..

Kripes, I remember when Foufoune was ignored on the shelf in Boston because paying >$20 for a bottle of beer was unheard of.. (2006)

Do you guys think this is a fad? Will this whole lambic/gueuze thing pass? Will they one day sit on shelves again? Genuinely curious.

Cantillon and Tilquin are expanding production, right?
