It gets very mixed reviews. I don't know if that's bottle variation or just palate variation. I have two bottles, drinking one very soon, but I've never had it before. Karel at De Cam told me he thought 2013 was the best one, and opened a bottle while I was there, but I thought it was pretty mediocre as gueuze goes (which is to say, very tasty, but not as tasty as regular gueuze from Cantillon, 3F, De Cam, or Tilquin...).
Agreed

this weekend:
fresh rose de gambrinus
fresh loon kriek

previously:
de cam framboise
blabaer at ~1 year old
3f krieks of varying age
st lamvinus
vigneronne
b1 hommage

i vividly recall drinking framboos and armand & tommy fresh after the sour and bitter fest and thinking...why are people losing their minds over framboos when this A&T is friggen fantastic and not getting talked about

dont get me wrong...i appreciate these things for what they are but in each case dont think the fruit addition made the experience better than drinking say the straight lambic or geuze from the respective place

Love me fresh loon kriek

I have been somewhat disappointed in recent batches I've tried though. Eagerly awaiting the 2015 from my Etre order...

By contrast I was very impressed with December 2014 bottling of Rose de Gambrinus I had recently. Maybe the best Rose I've ever had.

I agree that there's nothing like a good bottle of gueuze. I don't enjoy all fruited lambic (though there are a few exceptions) as much as some other fruited stuff like De Garde as I feel like the fruit is just better expressed in something like an Imperial Bu.

Recently had 2013 Vig again though and that stuff is just *******.

If I was gonna open a nice bottle this weekend what would yall suggest.

'10 Vig
'13 Mamouche
'12 LPK
'13 Fou
'14 Fou

Have only had Fou before...

Anyone with that attitude should feel free to contact me about an address to ship their unwanted Mamouche to, and how I might send back the $ they paid for it. :)
Holding onto what I have in the hopes that it will get better with time. 2014 tasted like pickle juice to me, and 2013 tasted like green pepper in the worst way. 2012 was palatable last time I had it...

I don't think it's an attitude per se, just a preference - but what do I know?!

If you have never had them before, don't age them. Drink fresh. If you love them chase down another bottle to age.

While I generally agree with this approach, I'd suggest that he save that 2010 Vgneronne and try and track down a fresh Vigneronne... no reason to waste the four years already on that bottle and start from scratch again!
