Here's a Flemish poem that has even less to do with lambic, by Herman J. Claeys (1935-2009):

Begrafenis

or, roughly:

Burial

Funerals are exferiences
in the improper sense of the name
the letters p and f are hindrances,
as “name” rhymes with the carried flame.

That torch I bore when uncle Lennart died.
I ran gravewards laughing toward the coffin
as his best barmate, that the honor would requite
the borne flame of the humor-softened

which I swore by till the sixth glass of red
—conversation turned to cremation or burial—
that he wanted them both when dead:
his ashes must convey the ossuarial.

And they all laugh, have themselves a kriek
(some drink a geuze) over the open grave
where as homage to his history we speak
of all his buffeted jokes we forgave.

And when the friends applauded
I brought my torch up in black clothes;
within the fire’s womb the coffin rotted,
thus fulfilling his sworn oaths.

Any other cantillon magnums besides classic gueuze floating around out there?

There are these at least. And many others that have been opened at events and the like but not really sold.

sorry, added to my original question after you replied but did they also make the Reeds in that format as well to your knowledge?
Not that I've ever seen. Only the Goldackerl was ever sold out of Akkurat as a magnum as far as i know. In searching through old ratings for the Reeds, i've never seen anyone posting a review from a magnum, either.

It's high, the 375s are actually cheaper now so I bout some of those... Would have passed on both but need to fill a box :/

Anyone know a place in London that might have a good selection of Lambic?
Paging deeblo.
London's not s big Lambic town, sadly. Craft Beer Co usually has a few bottles, they've carried the Seasons previously, things like that. Euston Tap and The Rake may have Cantillon Gueuze/Kriek/Rose (Euston Tap and Craft Beer Co has had occasional Cantillon on draft). I think the White Horse over in Fulham also has had some kind if Cantillon connection and have run their stuff on tap, at least in the past.

The London crowd over at RB will know more, check the regional UK forum.

A very nice man from Belguim offered it to me, he knew my penchant for homemade gueuze.
Ugh that one is supposed to be damned amazing if I remember correctly.

But I just locked down a major haul today overseas myself so I ain't even jelly. Will upload pics for science when it arrives.

- St. Lamvinus 2007
- Lou Pepe Kriek 2005
