I wonder if Lindemann's will wise up to the fad of unsweetened fruited lambics. I mean Cantillon is expanding (doubling?) production, so clearly, there is a huge demand for what they do. Lindemann's seems to have so much production geared towards sweetened lambic that if they focused some of that production towards unsweetened fruited lambic (which they could probably do at least decently (if Cuvee Rene is any indication)), they might be able to tap into a new market that's willing to drop relatively large amounts of money on similar products.

Of course they could be doing just fine selling their sweetened lambics and not want to allocate resources towards a niche market.

/End ramble

Ever had cuvee rene kriek? its pretty good just not available stateside

Ah, I'm sure I had known about that at some point. Reviews look pretty solid. Unfortunate that it is not available in the US because it'd be cool to see that filling up Bevmo shelves instead of their standard stuff.
Lets start an email campaign to lindemans asking for Cuvee Rene Kriek to be sent to the US as well as additions to the lineup. CR Framboise, CR Peche, CR Cassis. Who's with me?

Cuvee Rene Kriek won't be in the US because the regular kriek sells too well and the importer does not want to confuse consumers in the US.

Tomorrow I will be doing a side by side, but I will say the IR this evening was awfully fruit forward with very little funk.

I know, but if enough people ask that could be the tipping point. Besides putting a label on it like the warning in the 2010 weyerbacher reserva about it being sour should be sufficient to dissuade the Lindemans Kriek drinkers

I've heard so much **** I don't know what to believe but I figured the peeps in this forum would be the right ones to ask. Does anyone have a realistic or reputable number of total bottles of A&T released to the public?

The simplest answer is no, not at all. I don't think anyone claiming to know the exact number is doing anything but guessing based on a number of anecdotal posts on beer forums.

Fair enough and I'm not surprised with that answer.

I opened a Mamouche tonight. First time I've ever had it. I opened the bottle at around 46degrees.

I didn't really care for it; major green pepper thing going on.

It warmed up though and closer to room temp it's amazing.

Real talk.

30+ minutes in a decanter does WONDERS to that beer. Mamouche is probably one of my favorites to be honest.

My favorite standard Cantillon along with Lou Pepe Kriek. And since it seems like the US trade machine hates it right now, I get to keep pretty much all my bottles to myself. Love the whole puckering lemon experience.

Also supposed to be the most limited sesonal loon, no?

Definitely the most limited, not sure if it's limited because of demand or supply of the flowers but damn do I love it.

I didn't technically decant it but the time spent in the glass and the bottle sitting out waiting for my second pour probably had a similar effect. While drinking it I actually had an "ah ha" moment thinking about decanting Cantillons.

Dear Mr. McKenna,

Your email has been forwarded to us for reply. We are the US importer for the Lindemans Brewery. The Cuvee Rene Kriek is something that we are working on. Please stay tuned and watch our website for future developments.

Cheers!
