I generally have a good system for keeping track of my beer. This bottle however, has been off my radar for at least two years. When I found it, threw it right in the fridge. Definitely on the decline but not far into it. Though it probably wasn’t kept in the best cellar condition.
Excuse the pour, was trying to see if that glass could intihar. It cannot.

Mine all turned south less than a month after I traded for them. 0 for 3. But I had one previous to those, and it was a stunner. So sad.

I thought my bottles were good (may still have one somewhere), but I was wanting them to be as good as Blendiculous #1 and they just didn't stand up to that standard.

Infection?
This one had some oxidation but nothing to complain about with an almost 5 year old beer. I probably traded for it when it came out, if that makes any difference.

Anyone crack the latest A Deal With Demolen recently? Curious how that's doing
Had one 10 days ago. Its good. Bout the same as it was several months back. Tons of apple brandy barrel. Its not gonna mellow out if thats what your asking.

I'd pop it soon, before what's left of the hops fade and its a barrel bomb.

1999 Mad River John Barleycorn barleywine.

Surprisingly solid. The nose has some pepper and some oxidation but also some caramel and maybe cherry. Flavor has, presumably, dropped off a bit but still a decently robust. Definitely opened up over 45 minutes or so and improved. Just a random find my friend had and I asked to open on a whim. Worked out well.

Tried the stout last night....I’ll be getting more of this series for sure.

I think I first saw barrel aged bottles from these guys a couple of years ago in the NW burbs and immediately decided that any random new brewery that starts with BA'd stuff in distribution is probably trash. I take it they aren't?

No idea, this is my first shot at them. BA stout = enthusiastic buy. BA BW...I’m currently addicted to the style so, yeah, I’m in again. Will report on rye barrel stout tomorrow.
