1999 Mad River John Barleycorn barleywine.

Surprisingly solid. The nose has some pepper and some oxidation but also some caramel and maybe cherry. Flavor has, presumably, dropped off a bit but still a decently robust. Definitely opened up over 45 minutes or so and improved. Just a random find my friend had and I asked to open on a whim. Worked out well.
Is that prosciutto?

i think VSOJ was 2 4pks per person at the brewery.

Whoa whoa, easy buddy. I mean, it's just pretty ok.
Don't **** this up and make it un-obtainable!!!

It’s already pretty hard to get, at least for a pleb like me....I saw someone on the other site considering trading an OG rare for Rev cans and someone said that they shouldn’t take fewer than 6 VSOJ...

Drinking the aforementioned Rip Current life. Smells exactly like Woodford Reserve soaked raisins. Tastes starts with a surprisingly balanced barrel flavor then quickly transitions into toffee and dark fruit. stawn killed it with this release. L'chaim

I regret not sending in my peeps to swoop this up. Rip Current has an absolutely killer barrel program.

Yeah I feel like this one peaked quickly and dropped mighty fast. I have one more and low hopes for it. Hoping that new batch is killer when it drops this year.

Yeah, it was good when it first dropped but no comparison to Blendiculous #1. That may have been lightning in a bottle, not sure if they can really replicate.

Omega Point was a little too neutral of a flavor for me for an English barleywine. Not enough sweetness, just deep malt.

Opened an Omega Point on Friday. It's ded - soooo much cardboard. Open em now if you get em, not getting any better.
Omega Point fresh was fantastic. KevSal brought one to a share when that bottle first dropped. I liked it so much I traded for 3 bottles of it the following week. All 3 of my bottles were pretty much garbage within 2 months.

Sadness.
