Cross posting from the DDT. This was from yamar68. This is absolutely delicious. Standard English style notes with plenty of booze and barrel and just a hint of an almost Christmas like spice from the cardamom. Really smooth with a long rich finish. I'm not usually a fan of adjuncts in BW's but this is really well integrated.

smaller format!? excited about that!

I haven't had this in awhile but I may need to revisit soon, especially if they dialed the cardamom back. I like cardamom but this beer used to have a scented candle/cardamom cookie thing going on that was a little too much for me.

Definitely more on the subtle side.

Anyone have the new Great yet? Working on locking down a couple... v excited

Stored in cold temp? Or like 60-65 degree? My last one has been in the later since or was released. B2, was pretty cardboard a few years back. *fingers crossed my b1 is half as good as yours.

Not stored fridge cold. Was in a basement/cellar untouched for 7+ years. Literally did not move an inch. Probably 55-65. Ya idk why this bottle was so good but it was

New offering from Rip Current who quietly has the best barrel program in San Diego. If anyone was coming to SD during the pickup window I wouldn't pass it up.

Also, to answer the Great question, it is much hoppier than previous years since is was <1 year in the barrel but that will fade with time. The bottles I've had were much better than draft. Not as sweet as the overly sweet 2015 batch and the blend of the two was perfect.

Had this last month. Absolutely incredible. 5/5

Nice man. Mine was on its way downhill last year, thinned out a good bit and slight oxidation. I wasn't he sole owner though so storage may have had something to do with it.

here’s the crowd first to last left to right. all winners honestly
Finished off the Massive with dinner. Damn, it was still awesome! That's my "shelfie" pick winner.

Would you recommend drinking the K13 now or lay it down for a while?
i think laying it down would be a good idea, one person remarked it’s the best triple ipa he’s ever had while we talking about it, and he rated it the highest than the rest of us. looking at my notes now i wrote hoppy and underlined it
it was easily the hoppiest of the bunch. i really liked the malt character in that one, and can see if the hops died down a bit becoming really good!

and shoot we coulda really used your remarkable palate yesterday lol pick up all the nuance characters that most miss

edit: another thing worth mentioning is that i had bob a few months ago and loved it. i think all of them in an isolated incident would be fantastic. it’s just having it next to some really really good stuff makes it taste less than it normally would

I had it last weekend and thought it was very good, and pretty similar to K13 B1 (except rye rather than bourbon barrels). It's been a REALLY long time, but reminded me of what I remember Hi-Fi Rye tasting like.

Any thoughts on the most recent Thomas Hardy's that are on the shelves now? I've been buying them but haven't got in to any of them yet.

Birthday celebrated today (It's this week but this is my only day off) with prime rib followed by these perfectly paired:

Batch 2 HoG kills B1 IMO - B1 is cognac barrels, B2 being Apple Brandy

And finishing off with a bottle from Dbijnagte.

What did you think of the DM? I've always liked it. On the lighter side but solid flavors.
