Went to a beer festival last night and brought 7, 1 litre growlers of homebrew. A saison, imperial IPA and a barleywine. Everyone really enjoyed the beer which was awesome!

Came home to my 5 carboys bubbling away with more beer and it made me smile. Poured a homebrew off the kegerator and ordered some more grain. I love this hobby and it's been so rewarding. You all helped as well.

This forum I recommend to everyone that wants to home-brew. You guys rock! I did my first batch in May and have been having the greatest time brewing beer! Thanks guys.

That's awesome! I also recommend this site to everyone who expresses even the slightest interest in brewing. I think we may have a new member joining soon since one of my friends joined me for two brew sessions and a bottling session over the weekend and he seemed pretty hooked. He was looking up how to convert a cooler to a mash tun and asking me all kinds of questions so I think he might be hooked even before doing is own first brew.

I haven't been able to go to any beer fests lately, but that will be remedied the weekend of October 13. Two days ago I had all my fermenters full. Now they're still full, but with different beers in them. That definitely made me smile this morning. Cheers! :mug:

I agree. Making my own beer and really enjoying it has been one of the most rewarding hobbies I've ever had. I'm a bit of a hobby junkie with a tendency to drop a hobby once I feel like I've become proficient at it. Making beer is a whole different ball game! I'm stuck because I can't get a good ESB locally (not that I've found, anyway) so the only way to get it is to make it.

I'm the same way about hobbies! It's a new one every year. But with beer, the friends I'm making, the social aspect and the win of always having something to drink on tap, it's something that I may not be as "into" 5 years from now but it's a very rewarding hobby and I have a lot of fun brewing.

Warms the cockles of ones heart to know that we have a hobby that will eventually, and pleasantly (till the end) see us off, and the best thing about it is it is virtually tax free.
Got to take my hat off to George Best he demolished two livers.

It is a good feeling. I didn't even think about the tax aspect of brewing, just another reason to like brewing, because I certainly don't like taxes.
