infection9-17.jpg

i found this when i went to test the FG today
i have checked the FG once before at day 7 using a sanistar sanitized theif

it is now day 14 in primary (not using secondary belgian wit)

is it infected?
its a white liquid funk dripping into the beer

FG is 1.014 day 7 and 14
OG is 1.040

garbage it?
bottle it?
wait another week?

thanks for the help

Not trying to be mean, but that picture is a little hard to see...
it looks like you have a lizard stuck in the neck of your carboy! :D

i would give you a better answer if i could make out what you think is an infection in the pic..sorry

Joel

Looks like a bit of nocturnal emission to me  If your primary is a female, she may have coughed right after you squirted your wort in her :rockin: These things happen from time to time... Nothing to be ashamed of.

GunnyW - Stoled my thunder.
Either that is yeast from pitching, or you have a guy friend jerking off into your fermenter. (Or may a pre-op girlfriend really pissed at you).
If the beer smells OK, then I would bet on yeast, otherwise, that may be the first beer I would ever dump out.

the yeast from pitching sound like it might be the thing

thanks
ill push on

I had the same thing on my 90 shilling. I read the fourms here and bottle it. After 2 weeks the beer was just fine. turned out even better the the reguler stuff.

I get that pretty much every other time I ferment in my carboys it's just a few grains of yeast that get re hydrated onto the neck and it looks funky.

smells fine

i had to re pitch dry yeast because i didnt do the liquid yest correctly and it died (either temp too high or not enough time before pitching)

thanks
should i bottle now or wait another week?

Your beers not infected, you just got some dry yeast drip...pretty common.

When do you bottle? have you taken a hydrometer reading, or 2 over a 3 day period?? Then wait at least another week if not longer to let the yeast clean up after themselves? I leave mine in primary for a month then bottle...

Been waiting 5 days to use that pic. :D

Well a comment was made on your last picture that the chick needed a bra. Well problem solved! :D

the FG hasnt changed at all during the past 7 days. and the bubbles are pretty much 3-4 min apart.

do you think its going to get any lower than 1.014?

i dont mind waiting, as im going out of town this weekend so i could bottle when i get back.

ryangws - Seven days stable, it would be ready to rack to secondary. If your going straight to bottles I would give it a week or two more.
Really glad it was yeast.
