how much headroom do you need in a 6.5 gallon carboy?

Nevermind... I looked and it's a 5 gallon carboy.. so it looks full because it's AT 5 gallons.

My gf was in charge of filling the carboy with water and I think she got a little more than 2 gallons in it.

The wort poured in and we are at the part of the carboy where it bends up from being straight.. the widest portion of the top... i.e. just as it becomes rounded.

Should I take some out?

I fear we will have one crazy mess....

how much room do we need?

After looking at pictures from the first batch, it appears that there should be sufficient headroom as we aren't much higher than we were before.
