Where in Michigan do you hail from? I’m just outside of Lansing.

Grand Ledge here, so you must be familiar with The Red Salamander? I spend way too much money there, but for a good cause. Maybe we’ll have to meet up sometime. I’m a plumber and drain cleaner who has no fear of barter.

I bottled a chocolate chili stout today. My son’s and my first lesson in bottling, he dropped one. No biggie. Flat, but very spicy after the second hour of sipping!

You’re not that far from me, I’d like to pick your brain sometime.

Somehow I am a member of the chief okemos sportsmans club. I am sure I am in arrears on my dues.

Yes I'm familiar with the red salamander! I've only picked up supplies from there once though. I usually get my stuff at capital city homebrew supply. Great place.

I've only been brewing for about a year but I'll help if I can :)
I'm actually getting sick of bottling and want to move to kegging. I can't justify the cost right now though.

I haven’t checked out capital city yet.

A year into brewing, that’s probably 8 months more practice than me.

Keep your eye on Craigslist. I picked up a nice collection, 4 kegs, c02 tank, two taps and everything to diy a kegerator, killer kettle, two carboys, buckets, extra hydrometer, thermometers, all for $250, right here in Grand Ledge.

I almost sprang on some more kegs out by Grand Rapids. A guy had more than ten kegs for $50 a pop.

Maybe some weekend we can meet up at Sanctuary Spirits or Brickhaven.

Look for bargains for kegerators, coca cola cylinders for kegs etc on Craig's list, offer up etc. I bought my used biermiester even though they are not the best (Don t know if that brand is even made anymore) but its 8 years old and I paid $125 for it. Kegging is the real deal!
