so, i was soaking some kegs with oxyclean...left it in there a few days and now have a chalky film that is difficult to remove...

anything that will easily clean it off? pretty hard to get my arm all the way into the keg to scrub it off.

More OxyClean does it for me. Only an hour or two additional soak was needed in my situation.

Happened in my sink once and Barkeeper's Friend took it off. You said keg, though. Can't reach the bottom without tools.

think i read vinegar
yep vinegar:
o remove OxiClean residue, a good method is to rewash the item with cold water and your regular detergent, ensuring all OxiClean is fully removed. If you are dealing with a particularly stubborn stain or residue, a mixture of one part white vinegar or lemon juice with two parts cold water can help counteract the bleaching effect of OxiClean. After using the vinegar or lemon juice solution, rewash with cold water and detergent to remove any lingering OxiClean or vinegar/lemon juice.

I just thought it was discoloration, not staining or oxidation. It kinda felt powdery to the touch. the first go around, I soaked overnight in hot water and Texas sun. Rinsed, but not well enough. I soaked again for a couple hours inside (and rinsed really well) and it did it. Never tried vinegar. Sounds promising.

Also I recall @day_trippr mentioning that you need to rinse the oxyclean or PBW off the vessel / equipment with water as warm or warmer than you were soaking it in.
If it dries out I resoak as above and rinse again.

Most of my equipment gets starsan to sanitise it so given this is an acid or partly acid shouldn't it do the same as the organic acids mentioned?
Bar keepers friend is Oxalic acid so another option.

vinegar worked. not straight but about one gallon vinegar to 2 gal water and soaked 30 minutes....flipped keg in bucket to soak the top half.

Yes, starsan usually cleans the film off for me
