Has anyone tried EdWort's Apfelwein recipe with other fruit juices and care to share results? I'm thinking of trying a cherry or pear
 
I did a few versions with some store bought apple/pomegranate juice a long time ago, and I also did a great country wine (read: jailhouse hooch) with Welches White Grape Peach frozen concentrate. Added sugar to both but I felt like it made them too hot to drink for too long. Without sugar additions the juice is around 1.045 to 1.052, so fermented to 1.000 makes it 6% to 6.9% respectively, which is a nice beer-strength. Put some bubbles on those and you've got a tasty drink in a lot less time :drunk:
