Finally decided on something a bit more humble then "God". Came up when I was having my birthday dinner at a rib place last week. She rambled off the beer list and it was like... Bud, Bud lite, Labbats, Coors... rambled a few more. I sat and thought for a moment.... "Umm..... iced tea please." I do believe the person who decided the beers of this place would not know a good one if someone dumped 5 gallons over his/her head.

Oh and incidently.... if anyone has to go on a restricted diet as I am on (low fat, low cholesterol, low salt... cardiac diet), and decides for their birthday that they can go out and get something real good. I LOVE ribs. Have not had one since November. Umm.... think about it :( My system must have gone in complete shock or something. I was like sick as a bloody dog all night. DId not sleep one wink so I was like a zombie the next day. I do believe my rib days are over.

You're just being paranoid! I had a Cardio Infarction (heart attack) over 9 years ago.

Like a diet, the key words are "moderation: and ...I for get the other word...:D ... enjoy your ribs, just not so many of them...

I know what your saying about the beer choices at some places. Big chains like TGI Fridays and the like seem to have selections like that. Usually they have guinness or a sam adams seasonal to save the day. Happy belated B-day!

That sucks about the ribs. But like Bill said: "In Moderation"

I hope! I'm just 39 here. But man....what can I say..... wish I was up all night brewing beer instead of what I was brewing. Though these past few months I can probably use the word paranoid a few times. Hope you don't think I'm just saying this, but you are one of the people I have been thinking about when thoughts get crazy. It's good to know and talk to people who have lived through this. Puts things in perspective you know.

It is very wierd though to wake up in the middle of the night to a heart beat... literally... must be dreaming or something, the pacemaker starts hammering away and I wake up.

Hey God-Um I mean Snobbish One:D-
First let me say that each time I see a post of yours I take it as good news, that your recovery is coming along well:)

I have read posts like this before, where guys just can't get a decent brew at thier local restaurants, etc. Is that a regional thing, because I never seem to have that trouble. Around here even the dives seem to have one specialty beer on tap. At the very worst you can at least get a Leinie's which I consider better than macros but not quite craft beer. Whatchoo guys think?

Yes it does seem to be going well. Since the paemaker was put in I dont have hot flashes anymore. I was exhausted all the time before. I go out walking now and dont run out of breath after a block. Four days after I actually went out for a walk... mind wandering you know... not realy thinking about much. I got a little over a mile away before stoping and thiking... heh... where the hell am I..... oh... ice cream place across the street... hehe.... wow... My head is not so frazzled either. After I left the hospital last November I had problems thinking things through... things like.... doing bills for example. Problem solving.... bet if I was making the fittings for the false bottom now I could figure it out:) Hands and feel are not so cold now. Doc tells me my heart rate and BP is much diffeerent then it was before so more blood is going to the areas it needs to go to.

Yes. Thank you for mentioning it. It is going well. Soon as these staples come out (Wensday) I'll be able to start driving again and I'm going to join a club and regain some strength back. I am officially set to start working this comming Monday (I work in a nursing home doing activities with the residents). I also have an entertainment side business that I love, but the equipment is a bit much for me to handle by myself right now. Lifting much of anything right this moment is something that needs care and planning. I lifted a cooked roast from the oven yesterday, which was a big mistake. I think it's the staples I'm feeling more then the general area.

It's comming along.

Pacemaker...Man, you're an overachiever aren't you?
I had my MI when I was 42, so you beat me there.

I (only) had an angioplasty (balloon) at 1 point, but I did have a heart attack for 18 hours before admitting that I needed to go to the hospital. Boy, was I an idiot!!! Won't happen again. I listen to my body now, OK, OK, we argue a lot, but... I'll be 52 in July and I'm having no problems (knock on wood - as I tap on my skull with a knuckle...:D ). I still lift 100 lbs objects (against my original doctors orders right after the MI).

A couple of weeks ago I had to lift about 16 - 60 lb machine gun mounts onto the top of the Paladins for mounting. I'll tell you what, I did take a few breaks in the process. You have to know your physical limits. You already know (in your brain) what you're capable of...or at least, used to be..., but you have to listen to your body. There's no need to rush to your grave...it's waiting and will wait you out so don't rush it.

One thing about "listening" to your body, I "oversensitized" myself to the innerds so much that I could visually follow an air bubble inside my body. Weird...

If you need to chat you know where to find me.:D
