So after 135 days of "conditioning", I had two one gal batches and one finally came out good. Good enough so that my bud light lime wife didn't give this one "beer face" and actually liked it. I had kept forgetting about them because they were bottled and sitting out of the way. I decided to try the last two bottles of each tonight. To my surprise, one was actually good so I figured I would share the recipe to see if anyone had something similar. I plan to do a 5 gal batch at some point.

Lesson learned here is to take my time. I keep wondering why my lagers have off flavor....not anymore ;)

Not to be a style nazi but where do you put this? Maybe bock?

Yeah the thing with lagers is they take SO long. I generally make 3 gallon batches for most of my stuff. But when I do lagers I always brew it twice so I can fill a 5 gallon keg - because they take SO long.

Over 4 months seems a bit excessive - I generally do 4 or 5 weeks of lagering after fermentation is done for most of mine. I have a Vienna Lager and a Doppelbock on now.
