So, Tell me all the reasons using a pump instead of CO2 is a bad idea when I am using a whole house filter to filter beer that I am going to put in a keg.

Do I understand this right:
You are running your beer through a charcoal filter?

And you're concerned about using a pump vs CO2 pressure to run the beer through the filter?

As long as you sanitize and purge the filter and lines with CO2 I can't imaging pushing with CO2 or a pump would make much of a difference. Just make sure you push the beer with pressure from the pump as opposed to pulling it with suction.

How much beer are you planning on loosing? I've never used a filter like that but I'd imagine you won't be getting all of the beer back out of the cartridge.

Why are we filtering beer?
I would at least hope the filter in question is some pleated affair because a charcoal filter would likely load up in an instant and never pass another drop of beer...

Cheers!
