This, I understand. There is nothing about Midway I prefer over O'Hare though, flights are always delayed, nowhere to eat or drink, pain in the ass to get to. MEH.

Yeah, this is just not true. I fly a lot for work with a guy on my team that flys ORD. Twice this year (so far) he has had multiple delays coming back to Chicago, and ultimately cancellations, where he has ended up buying a ticket on my SW flight last minute. The SW flights were barely even delayed while United/American were cancelling. That doesn't even count the delays he has had leaving that caused our coordinated travel times to get all ****** up.

It's just a fact that ORD overbooks their runways, so any hiccup with weather that won't allow them to utilize the runways at full capacity ***** everything up and has ripple effects. They are counting on flights getting cancelled at certain time periods of the day that they are overbooked. This is not an issue at MDW.

And MDW is easier to get to for me at almost any hour of the day. No matter how bad traffic is, there are multiple surface street routes that can be taken that can get me there in less than 45 minutes, while traffic on the Kennedy can easily get to an hour+.

But yeah, the food sucks...especially after the recent 'upgrades'. But it is supposed to be getting better soon.

Stout fest tickets are onsale tomorrow at the "Am i really sure I need to go" price point of $52
Much smaller brewery list this year, with some notable absences from the pastry stout contingent.

Also sad to not see Clybourn listed as a separate entity. Hopefully they highlight beers produced on-premise vs. the production facility...

Where did you find a brewery list? I wouldn't expect you see a lot of on-premise beers unless they're from before the renovation. Supposedly they just began brewing at Clybourn like last month.

Was something wrong with this year's batch of Hunahpu? I'm seeing a lot of local FS posts offering 8x each for not much more than retail.

Just weird.

Also: Hiiiii!!!

Probably people who don't actually want the bottles and just wanted to go to the festival. Since you're required to buy at least 4 bottles with every ticket, if you have two people in your house going, you'll be heading home with more bottles than most people want.

Personally I used to just add them as extras in the next few boxes I send, but I guess people have other ideas. Huna certainly isn't the "rare" beer it used to be.

It was on the BPT site. Although it looks like they've added to it after tickets went on sale, since More and middlebrow weren't on there before.

If anyone has Huna bottles that were foisted upon them against their will, please feel free to send to RedCoffee for proper disposal.

Edit: Yes this joke is old hat. I'm more just surprised that people would be so eager to offload it. Didn't think Huna was in the same category as Dark Lord re: people being so meh towards it.

Did you try Scotch Parabola? That was a drain pour for me.
I have not, but I am very intrigued. I tend to like scotch aged beers even if they are over powering. Did that see distro here, or was it draft only?

It was at FoBAB this year so curious if you had tried it to compare.

This is the result of what happens when you source too many Scotch barrels and you try and salvage something, ANYTHING from the ideology that lead to the Prop fiasco. This beer is absolutely awful and I am a huge fan of scotch. In the wise words of Three Floyds from a less complicated time: Caveat Emptor.

Yeah but what do you really think?
