First double barrel meant a beer was aged in one kind of barrel, then another barrel from a different kind of spirit (or at least bourbon vs. rye). Then it meant beer aged in two different types of barrels was blended together. Now it means beer that's aged in one type of barrel then ... put back into the barrel? Another similar one? I don't get why you wouldn't just ... leave it there longer?

Or am I asking why not just make 10 louder?

At the Great Taste many years ago GI set up a pavilion where you blended 4 distinct single-barrel BCS varieties. One each that was smoke forward, vanilla forward, barrel forward, and chocolate forward, IIRC. If the same procedure is followed for making the BCS blend (it is, more or less) that would make regular BCS a QUAD BCS, so a Double Barrel BCS would be an OCTUPLE BCS.

Aged in one barrel, then moved to a fresh barrel and aged again so it picks up more of the spirit? Just a guess based on the increased ABV...

They also had it at FOBAB that year, and it's one of the best things they ever did. Sadly in the past, now.

Also, at what point do we start squaring the number barrels and get a HEXADECTUPLE BCS?

the good ol days when people like extracted distinct flavors from barrels and the beer itself before everyone just made ice cream cocktails.

If you all want a break from hazebro juice boxes I suggested snagging some Half Acre Plane Wave. Throwback to that tangelo/citrus IPA with a touch sweetness and underlying bitterness.

Agreed, picked up a 4 pack of that and a sixer of Zombie Dust. Don't miss the haze at all.

First time at Rev Brewpub (wtf I know). What’s good to eat fam?
Bacon popcorn or gfy

Will second bacon fat popcorn. Have enjoyed many steak dishes in the past (steak and eggs for breakfast, chimichurri steak for dinner), but here is something sad. It has been so long since we ate there that when we visited last weekend for Barleywine is Live, fear025 had forgotten that once upon a time we ate there twice in one day. That was a good day.

I got DB VSOD 9oz, Mineshaft Gap taster, a fresh Fist City, the soft pretzel with beer cheese and a pulled pork sandwich and it was delightful. Just woke up from a nap too.

Just got back from the soft opening of Eris, cider is great, some solid opening beers and the food is very well done. The space is gorgeous and huge, it looks nothing like the former Korean church that I saw a couple years back before they even started to demo. Definitely will become a must stop...

beeraficionado any MG hanging on at the brewpub? Woke up with the day off today, could make it for lunch. I saw the “last 10 cases” alert Sat.
I went in yesterday around dinner to buy one for an out of town friend and there were still plenty left. I imagine that's still the case but I'll try to get you a more solid confirm when the Brewpub folks arrive later this morning.
