Woke up. Gave the people’s elbow to the neighbors garden gnome followed by a little bushwakers walk. I’m ready to party tonight.
like the '91 royal rumble...

In order from best to worst from last night:

1. VSOJ Cherry Rye
2. VSOJ
3. VSOJ Rye
4. Straight Jacket
5. Mineshaft Gap

Mineshaft Gap was a big disappointment. Nothing like the well balanced and silky smooth beer it was a few years ago. It was harsh and really thin. Only beer of the night where if you held it up to the light you could see right through it.

All in all a fantastic event by Rev. That short rib was amazing.

It was great seeing and meeting so many of you last night. Thanks a million for supporting the event, which a lot of folks put a ton of work into. My favorite part of the night was how there wasn't just small cliques of friends keeping to themselves in a corner. Everyone was extremely social and friendly, and it felt like the entire room was a part of one giant conversation. Feedback is always welcome.

Wait until tonight. I’m going to be posted up in the corner like a Jr high dance.

I wonder what Goose thinks watching Rev basically doing donuts in their front yard.

Maybe they don't care, yet.

They specifically said they closed Clybourn for 8 months because they wanted to renovate it and enable it to have the buzz and vibe of Revolution. They care.

I do think them putting a few King Henry bottles on their cellar list at Fulton is a pretty obvious nod to the events in Chicago this weekend.

The individual responsible for the build was responsible for all the 10 Barrel pubs that are now floundering in So Cal and Denver. In so much as he succeeded in making Clybourn resemble a sterile, industrial, 10 Barrel type vibe, he wildly succeeded. The project ended up being over budget and significantly late in final delivery. The Goose employees care, yes. The Corporate masters, however, couldn't care less. No one specifically oversees pubs (dotted line only) and the inmates run the asylum.

i would rank them roughly the same, but i didn't think MG was as weak as you did. still maxed.

edit: best dish was the short rib, especially enthused about that charred tomato. least fave (wife agreed) was the sponge cake.

Dumb faraway FIB question here because I am a country rube and not local to the neighborhood:

If I park on the street in the neighborhood and then enjoy the event a little too much to drive home, are there any idiosyncratic parking ordinances or other beeswax I need to be aware of? I've always parked and then drove home. With both me and powz in attendance, I don't know if I can count on that this time. ;)

if you stick to the side streets and make sure you're not on one of the residential permit only streets (which will be signed), you should be fine. i don't think there are any residential permit streets super close to there, fwiw.

Any place you would need a permit is pretty clearly marked. I'm pretty positive the neighborhood around Rev is permit free, but just check to be safe. As tinypyramids said, always best practice to park on side streets.

The ol' lady and I have spent a lot of time drinking at Clybourn and when we went to the new spot her first words were "this place would do great in Iowa City." (presented without commentary)

I've heard about someone ubering back from the strip club to their car parked in the neighborhood across from Rev at 3 am and then sleeping in the drivers seat until 7 am with the keys purposely thrown under the car as to avoid weird DUI laws. YMMV.

No permit parking in the nearby neighborhoods, just watch out for handicap spaces.

Also, is it a poor move to be solo doming these before having a #bil night?
