Ends up the Dark Lord syrup is much simpler than the BCBS jam. He just brings Dark Lord to a simmer and lets it reduce by half. Then he adds a very small amount of simple syrup to taste. Done.

Oh nice! I'll probably use 3/4 the bottle I have to make syrup. Thanks for the info!

Almost forgot to ask with all the weekend chores and whatnot, but when did Chicago start getting Almanac distro?

Lincoln Park Costco had a few varieties. I say "had" because I nabbed the last two Dogpatch Sours and the last three Golden Gate Goses. The sours were $9-something, and I believe the goses were $7-something. They also had the IPA and the saison.

15 Feet has been released on draft at least once before. Being the homer I am for his stuff, I ignored the fact that I really dislike smoked beers and generally avoid non-hoppy, non-tart wheat beers and ordered a glass at my local.

Tried the first batch of 15 Feet that came out last year (?) when they called on homebrewers to crush the grain as they didn't have a mill at the time. It was actually very tasty if you have any place in your heart for smoked beers.
